Well, that too, of course. But the music calls for a bit of flair and presence—a challenging task for juniors, I think. Nina did fine, though I hold seniors to a higher standard

Okay, it’s hard to think the Canadian women’s Olympic spot is between anyone but Madeline, Kaiya and maybe Gabby, though it is only August.

Kaya is great i loved everything she did, i don't even mind the mistake. just one note, i can't apreciate this stereotypical generic chinese dress

Altitude, or the lack of ice time during the pandemic, or just lack of international competitive experience. Whatever it is, these girls are all doing a great job. They may not all of them have had the skates they were wanting, but they're out on the ice, performing, going for the harder elements, and doing their best to sell their programmes while executing the technical elements.

wholeheartidly agree. such a great joy for us to be able to watch juniors again.

Shame about the 3Lz from Kaiya, but still a good program from her. 1 mistake across 4 programs is a great achievement!

When she fell, I said aloud—oh, poor baby!

But she’s probably no younger than anyone else here.

I really like Kaiya's program - a shame about the fall, but it was still really look forward to watching her as she continues to develop

Hey, Disney music! LOL. Kaiya inhabited Mulan very well, I thought. (But then, I seldom have a problem with Disney music.) I like this better than her SP.

Oh hey I didn't know new Mulan had good music. I really like the music in the first half of Kaiya's program. She skates big and with conviction, such a shame about the 3Lz but she did really well otherwise.

Kaiya is such a delightful little ray of sunshine, with that huge smile. She is consistent, has good quality elements, and pays attention to the music, managing to keep the little look over her shoulder timed with the lyrics. And hooray for a second podium finish, whatever the medal colour may be!

Doesn't help that the dress is probably based on a Qi Pao (Qing dynasty fashion) with Mulan (it's hard to pinpoint the Mulan legend but it's not Qing dynasty for sure)
