Yes. The claim was that he said he’s proud she’s eating 2 shrimps. He didn’t say he’s proud. He said she doesn’t have addiction to food and she’s lucky. I’m also saying I’m not sure Emma literally meant 2 shrimps or was it just little food by her standards? There are many people who tell me I eat very little and I don’t think I do.
Emma literally says that she saw Anna eat only two small shrimps and categorically refused other food. This is not a metaphor. And this surprises her very much.
But, of course, you may not be sure of anything)

This is the direct speech of Emma Hajiyeva. Her own observations, which she shares with Gleichengauz here:
https://youtu.be/tj6Xgmurl9I?t=1828
Emma wonders how this is possible for an athlete? Gleichengauz thinks Anna is lucky that she only needs two shrimps for dinner. There are English subtitles there - you can check.
No I didn't get that from that old interview and the horrible english subtitles. The "two shrimps" were not literal. Are you trying to twist the words around here?

What I did get though is that Daniil said that Sasha is stubborn and they can't make her stop jumping. Which sounds like typical teenage stuff to me. And a reminder that these coaches have little power of the mind-set that these young girls have.

Why do I need it?

You know what fried is right in one point . anyone who can read can see that this team literally blames their skaters always , a. Either they are too lazy when they are actually listenening to their bodys or they. Are to blame for the injury because they supposedly didnt say anything ? And you stand behind that? Wow give yourself a big clap on the back then, if you think its ok to blame a teenager for her injury, if its ok to put another barely 18 year old girl down in the media. Lets tell the truth here the girls are dammed if they do tell and dammed if they dont tell . Seriously it cant go both ways you cant say oh a15year old girls (ehich by the way are in no way adults not matter what the dancing instructor or TAT say)Should tell the coaches if they are in pain and if they dont they are at fault . Its also the coaches job to notice if something is wrong with their athletes . And on the other hand they tell the media another skater is lazy when all she does is actually listening to her body, she herself said she is a bit scared of getting another injury which is completely understandable because she saw and can now see what that could mean for a skaters career(and so many in here jumped on that wagon, saying she is to blame, she is a diva , she is difficult , she doesnt deserve to be in that camp , people in here who think that girl should be kissing the feet of the team just for taking her back but hey she is just a 18 year old girl who is at fault , but the grown ups in that team , in your eyes are never at fault never , if the rest of the girls would drop out from injuries or mental blocks than you would probably still say the words ! Its normal, its their way , they can do no wrong, they are the best ) .

Regarding to daria i hope its neither of the diagnosis that are beeing pushed around online, because if thats ehat she has the the tear in the muscle/ligliament could have actually torn a part of the bone off . And that takes more than just afew weeks to heal let alone jump triples ,because that could mean a recovery time from a few months to a year and everything inbetween , which also could mean the end of her career because in the depths this country has it would be hard to come back . And i for one like daria a lot and i absolutely dont wish for her career to end like thsi so.lets hope it doesnt ?

No one called Aliona lazy. He said her issues with runthrough are due to a mental problem. But it is a lot easier to say “he called her lazy” rather than trying to understand what he actually meant. I will say though, he should have not made comments about her at all. For one, not a good moment for Aliona’s career. Secondly, every word they say, every “like” on Instagram, every photo, every face expression, every post gets over analyzed and blown out of proportion. People here were literally analyzing Eteri’s favoritism based on how far a skater is from her on the photo. He should know this by now and just keep quiet.

I will not say there is a skater’s fault in this, I don’t think they have an experience and maturity to make those decisions for themselves. Its a mistake of the coaches, parents and medical staff. However, you imply a malicious thinking behind it, that all of this was purpose. That Daria was forced to skate in excruciating pain daily and they watched and did nothing. I just don’t agree with this. It may be a mistake of all the people surrounding her, but this is not something meant to intentionally hurt her. You oversimplify all these situations and they are much more difficult in real life. Listen, I had a back injury and it took 6 months to diagnose what it was. I didn’t do any professional sports, I went through many specialists, they just kept referring me to the next person and no one had a solution. It was just painkillers and pain for that time. Now, can I imagine how an athlete and their parents and their team would feel in my position? I really can’t. You make all of it sound so easy, I’m just trying to explain that in real life things are sometimes more complicated.

You probably forgot that skaters get injuries in that camp and take time to recover. Kamila did, she came back and she’s been getting stronger and stronger since then. Aliona did, she missed an important competition for it. She came back with a 3A. Anna did because of that toe injury. She had to sit out, while everyone else was getting their quads and 3As back and she was patiently waiting for her recovery. It’s probably really hard mentally, knowing how much behind everyone she was, but this is a quality which helps Anna thrive.

I think it is. And even if it isn’t, even if this was literally 2 shrimps, this is another case of over analyzing something. Who knows, maybe Anna just wasn’t freaking hungry that day, maybe she didn’t have appetite and didn’t want to eat. Why do people get so stuck on this?
Some people probably take this and think she eats 2 shrimps every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner, because Emma once said “2 shrimps”. Why else keep repeating this over and over again? If you think so - fine. I just think people make far going conclusions based on 1 phrase in 1 interview.

You doubted that it was said - I tried to dispel your doubts. It was said. Literally. Just this.)

Maybe Emma doesn't have exposure to someone who eats till they are full and stops eating - I doubt Emma was with Shcherbakova 24/7 and emphatically state all she ate that day was 2 shrimp - Shcherbakova herself has said that she doesn't diet, she eats right and balanced. Below are Shcherbakova's words on the matter. Who knows what happened that day, maybe she wasn't hungry that day, maybe the food didn't taste good and she wanted to be polite and refuse the food vs. tell Emma the food wasn't tasty.

“I don't go on diets, I just try to eat right and balanced. It is important for me to maintain a certain weight in order to be in shape, to perform jumps. In training, I spend a lot of calories, my appetite wakes up. Some athletes refuse to eat before the performance, but, on the contrary, I feel better when I have lunch, "- quotes the words of Shcherbakova HELLO! Russia.

I doubted he said he’s proud. Did he say that? He didn’t. I didn’t doubt there was a question about these goddamn shrimps, which will apparently will be brought up until Anna is 60.
I also doubted it is meant to be understood literally. Sorry, but this is my take as a language speaker. You might have your own take on this, and I’m fine with it.

You know why you can’t reply to me directly? Because you know you don’t have anything to say.
You just jump topic and go into pointing fingers and talk about my(?) moral standards. Dear, if you really want to discuss what I would and what I stand behind - I would never let my kid do any professional sport. I will not bear their tears, their pain or disappointments of the competitive life. I don’t want to see them go through it, so I as a parent will make that choice for them. Some other parents choose differently and if they do, they have to take responsibility for these choices. All of this is very personal and not for me to judge what other parents should do. Here’s my standing on this.

I actually didnt reply directly to your post because i you arent the only person on this page there also several other persons in here that i meant with it .so thats why i posted it as a new post as opposed to replying

Not to involve myself in a place where I don’t belong but I thought the shrimp situation was dispelled a while ago. I thought someone said that Anna confirmed that she disliked sea food and only ate the two shrimp to be polite since they were visiting Japan and Daniil complimented her “eating two shrimp” as a way to complement her politeness.

I could be wrong but either way I don’t think the shrimp situation is enough information to base the eating habits in TT on.

Russian ladies figure skating’s tagline should be “Never a dull moment.”
What can you do?

I'd say Eteri & Team deserves this. She is becoming THE ladies figure skating coach, she is the source and reason of most posts in this thread, she is producing so many wonderful skaters, and along the way, she is bound to make some enemies and haters.

Still, we have less drama than last season (so far). :ROFLMAO:

That bolded part might be obsolete by tomorrow afternoon. Haha

As for the first part, I wish there will be a time where there are dozens of “Eteris” spread out all over Russia and the world. So we can have more and more competition.

Definitely. Davydov team is doing good, he has Sofia S. Plush has Veronika Zhilina. And others.
Zhilina was produced by Eteri though and learned her Ultra-C while at Sambo-70. I give Davydov lots of credit for coaching the only girl (Samodelkina) who has ever been competitive against an Eteri junior on paper. Obviously, Samodelkina hasn't put it all together yet but she still has a lot of time and it's huge she's landed 3A, 4T, 4S, and 4Lz in competition.
If Muravyeva lands 3A/4S then we can talk about Plushenko being competitive with Eteri.

I see the vultures are already feasting on the newest made up Eteri scandal. Of course they were awfully quiet for a long time but I never expected them to be so industrious in their latest faux outrage. I did not even think much of it when Daria withdraw but never underestimate how diligent Eteri haters toil.
The outrage doesn't seem to me to be "faux" in any sense. From what I've read, it seems on point and well-considered, with examples. That's real.
The seriousness of the injuries to children in Eteri's camp—as well as the sheer numbers—is noteworthy and alarming. There's nothing comparable to the enormity of these in other camps around the world. IMO it's unfortunate that adoring fans are whitewashing the Eteri team with "whataboutism" comparisons with other skaters and skating injuries in general. These are extremely damaging injuries to young bodies and are clearly traumatizing the poor victims. The trauma aspect has been quickly forgotten with all the quibbling about what kind of hip/foot/back/leg fracture is exactly the diagnosis and how many months it will take to "get all their jumps back" or reestablish their "careers". More on point would be "When will they ever be able to walk normally?" Maybe they won't?

Not an apples to apples comparison.

No other camp comes close to matching their depth, skill, talent, desire, work rate, hunger, discipline, competitiveness, will to dominate, intensity. I mean I can go on for days.

All these other buzzwords like whitewashing and whataboutism are just empty words. Some of us are not ashamed to follow, and cheer on, a school that demands excellence, puts out a fantastic product, and produces mentally tough, rabid bulldogs.

The supporters of the camp are more saddened by Daria’s injury and want her to make a comeback. We are actually more certain she will come back because she possesses the desire that earned her a spot in that camp. Daria is going to be back sooner than even the most optimistic prediction. Just watch.
