I think Anna could get quite close to Kamila (if Anna does 3 quads) Didn't she once get like 90 Tes with one quad?

She got 92 at GP Italy with 1 quad, her total score there was just under 237 vs. Valieva's Skate Canada 265 which had 3 quads and 2 triple axels, between the SP and FS. If Shcherbakova did 3 quads with 2 solo and 1 combo it would be close, and come down to the GOEs and PCS each of them receive - assuming they are both clean.

Below are some numbers:
Shcherbakova's Italy score includes the botched 3-2 in the SP, a clean 3-3 could probably add about 4 points (estimating based on the GP France score), so that would get her within about 25 points of Valieva at Skate Canada - again with just 1 quad. Her 4Lz combination at Skate America and the GPF in 2019 was over 15 points BV, and another solo quad flip or lutz on BV alone would give her 11-11.5 points.

So barring some crazy result next week (Loena beating two or three Russians, Kamila placing exactly 4th, etc.), it looks like Anna, Alena, Kamila, Liza, and Maiia could all make the GPF. It's the first look we'll have at the top Russians (minus Sasha) head-to-head, judged by an international panel. Hopefully skaters like Alena and Maiia can post an impressive result to get themselves back in contention for Olympic spots, as their prospects appear to be sinking.
Yeah, will be round 1 of the 3 round fight for 2022.

Anna‘s odds to make the Olympic team were slashed this weekend.

Honestly, I'd take the $1 if it meant I had to pay out $200 if she makes the team.
If she makes the team, the punters that bet on her can purchase their own Russian skating school with the winnings. Haha

Also, if you care to know how the gold medal odds stand at the moment:

I repost this here.

Looks like the girls qualifying to Jr Nationals from Russian Cup will be:

Sofia Titova
Alina Gorbacheva
Alisa Dvoeglazova
Victoria Morozova
Nadezhda Ponteleenko
Natalia Lagutova
Inga Gurgenidze
Lyubov Rubtsova
Sofia Zakharova
------------------
1st alt Ulyana Shiryaeva
2nd alt Sofia Vazhnova

Seems like Shiryaeva lost it with the -1 for time deduction she got today. Without that she would have q before Sofia Z.
Also, Vazhnova was unlucky to have Maria Zakharova in both her stages. MZ had already qualified, and Vazhnova would have been in without her.

And, I don't know if skaters from seniors get a free pass if they want to compete at juniors. If so, then we have potentially Yametova, A Morozova, Peterimova and Gushchina that can take places, so the last four on the list may not be safe.

Apparently this season you can compete in junior nationals if you earned a spot in senior nationals, just like last season.

No except that shes back on the ice. I can't believe how many people have written her off the team already. She has an enormous margin of error. Even if she only jumps one quad at Nationals she would make the team.

Anyone hear anything recently about Trusova and her recovery?

FSO forum admins had to put her personal channel on pause indefinitely. People're going too crazy about her.
As last time was discussed, Sasha "glides across the ice" and does her gym. No HiEnd skating. Period.

I dont think many on here have been writing her off for the team, I've generally been seeing it depends on the status of the injury.

Yes.

Nope.
If she plans one quad and lands it then it is between her and the Empress.
If she repeats US Classic splat fest, then Empress goes.

Also, Maya can still surprise us with a triple Axel - that could put her scores in 230 range as well.

If by Nationals Trusova can only do 1 quad i would bet they still name her on the team, in hopes she can add another quad by the Olympics. Both her and Shcherbakova have a BV advantage over Tuktamysheva with a lower number of risky elements

If she tries more and is a disaster, yeah that's gonna really hurt her. But I agree with Amei if she only tries one and skates clean, it will show she's in good shape and could probably add more before the Olympics. I believe that Fed would rather send Trusova than Tuk if Trusova is in good shape. Heaven help me if Maia tries a triple axel at Nationals.

I like youth competitions more and more :)

Today's battle at the "Rainbow Cup": Alena Prineva Vs. Elizaveta Andreeva

After SP: Prineva 68.16; Andreeva 68.61

Lets watch their free program :)

And who do you like more? :scratch2:

Betting is not legal in New York yet so I can’t bet either.

These odds are from Russian bookies.
I like odds because they are a guide. After all, this is people putting their money on the line, so they want to win their bets.

And it puts in numbers what we instinctively feel. Kamila is the gold medal favorite.

Truth be told, I’m happy I can’t bet; I would lose so much money betting on Liza that they will turn my heat and gas off after a while.

Well the Norwegian banks don´t allow transactions from foreign betting sides either, so it´s not possible for me to bet on such sides either way. But you are right, it´s probably for the best. You can only bet money on soccer and other boring sports (cross country ski) from Norwegian sides here, of course they don´t include figure skating. So my money is safe ;) But perhaps they will cover figure skating during OG, I might throw in some money if the odds is good.
