Can we call Kamila the Greatest of All Time now, already? Sensational. She has EVERYTHING

Of course, she is the best of all times if we construct a virtual competition and invite all contenders from all times to skate at the peak of their abilities ever shown. Even Trusova who proved that she can land 5 quads would lose. Trusova's TES for FP would be 110-112 as some people calculated after her Russian test skates performance. That won't be enough - she would lose pcs and SP to Kamila. So that Trusova's peak total score is in the 260s. Scherbakova could challenge Valieva with 3 big quads: 4F-3T, 4F, and 4Lz. Then she might even win FP with a small margin. But not having 3A is a big handicap for SP. I would see 270 as a maximum possible total score for Anna. And Kamila got 272 without a 3S. If we are talking about "queens from the past" thoughts that they could challenge Kamila are plain ridiculous. So, in that respect she is the GOAT and her performance at CoR is the best performance that this sport has ever seen so far.

If we talk about prizes and medals, she is surely not a GOAT and she will hardly ever be. The performance bar is so high now that keeping at this level for any substantial time might be physically impossible. Then there will never be any GOATs in figure skating any more and those who want to establish one should count the medals in the previous century and the first decade of this century armed with mantras like Yuna never missed a podium.

She, nor does any skater, control the judging.

I mean, Anna has even said outright she was over scored though. As did Aliona once, I believe? Definitely Anna did— she missed an element or something. As for the rest, please see my other response.

So it’s not her fault no, but she doesn’t have any problems with it.

But see there’s the problem— if they skate equally well neither should get the edge. The mistakes alone should then be the decider, not who the fed has decided should win.

But you will admit Anna as much as we all love her will have to go some to catch Kamila this year.

I am really concerned about your hatred of a 15-year-old girl of a sport where you are just one more fan.
My advice is to prepare yourself with a good antacid for the next three months where you see Kamila be crowned national, European and Olympic champion.

Competitions don’t matter to me when there’s objectively unfair judging, so she can take her titles and feel good about the fact that she’s getting higher points for failed elements/falls than some girls who aren’t in favor of the judges are given for completed elements that weren’t fallen on. If she can feel good about that then let her enjoy the titles. To me it devalues them, and they become worthless so I don’t care.

Of course. But let’s take the SP for example. Anna’s new SP has so much intentionality, but even with a 3A she wouldn’t have scored better than Kamila at either GP stage. That to me is ridiculous, considering how much more effort Anna put into the image and choreography and overall composition than Kamila did with her rather milquetoast lyrical program.

Same, I found it surprising to hear. From the Instagram live videos and seeing her hanging out with teammates she has always looked friendly. And we all remember those side-by-side Quad toes and (4S?) With Akatieva at the exhos!

Anna has always been very graceful in accepting defeat and admitting her mistakes or weaknesses.
You can't excuse Aliona's attitudes just because she's emotional, do you forget that she left TT because she thought Anna was the team's favorite and she wanted all the attention and ice to herself? Do you forget that when he left he said the programs they had given him were garbage? I never really understood why Eteri accepted her back, but I'm glad that it has helped her to be more humble and mature.

Aliona does not need me justifying her.
It is well know that Aliona is volatile while Anna is an example of composure in every situation.
What I like when they are togheter is how Aliona manage to make us see a little of Anna's lilght and funny side (a week ago in France too).
BTW I think that Anna has a great potential for "funny" programs, and we had a taste of that in some of her exibithions.

My point is that I'm ok with a skater being unhappy when she lose a competion she thinks she could win (or place better).
Being pissed off does necessarily mean not accepting the judgment, you could as easily be mad at yourself because you knew you could have done better.
I remember one time I was raging for a tactical error that did cost me a win in a close sprint (bicycle racing) and I surely could not blame the finish line to be where it was.
What matters to me is being able to cool down and be respectful of your rivals.
Anna and Aliona did fight it off multiple time, but they relationship always remained good

So Kamila is guaranteed essentially one spot. NOw who gets the second and third. .It might be easier topoint who is out. Daria is injured and gone. Aliona would need to regain the 3A and do well at the GrandPrix and Nats. Trusova is the question mark her injury and lack of training. Maia has been beaten by Anna and Liza so I guess she would beaten by them. People or some feel Liza is too old or a has been but she has been super consistent this year. NO quad but still he is doing 3 3A's in each competition Anna I would say is second but barely (but that is leaving Trusova out due to injury.. And Maia should be in the mix but is behind. There are 5 ladies with big Tech elements - Kamila, Anna, Sasha, Maia and Liza and only three get to go to the olympcs. You have to feel for them. A skater like Daria uninjured or Kostornaia would be national champions almost anywhere else maybe even the US. Russia could send their top 3 to the olympics and then their next 3 to worlds and still be very competitive.

I disagree. Even after the explanation I see no grief at all. The music choice is a nice lyrical tune that I also don’t think reflects grief— Kamila and Daniil didn’t get that either when making the program.

I think what makes me most upset about her scoring is just that she is not better in any of the PCS elements than Anna. Especially the new FS. The 10 point difference is even uglier when comparing those two programs, and when considering the WR was on the line. Just the absolute intensity Anna skates with for it! Her timing! The brilliance of the choreography in conjunction with the silent parts of the music! It is so fresh and original for Daniil, much better than Kamila’s program just from a sheer interpretation and composition perspective. Even if Anna had the 3A, it would not make up for the outrageous differences in everything else.

I think the fact Kamila seems displeased and as if she deserved an even higher score bothers me as much! Eteri girls half the time seem shocked when they score as high as they do, some even say they don’t think the program was worth its score, and Kamila just gives this face like “didn’t you mean to give me more?”.

I like that Kamila takes the win and her opponent‘s hearts. She smacks her opponents so decisively that you can‘t blame the scoring, luck, or anything tangible or intangible.

And you can believe that her teammates look at her differently now. They are also intimidated, and one or 2 may even be jealous of her success. She is the Alpha female at Eteri now.

She seems very friendly overall, not just on social media, where by the way, she's one of the skaters who are always liking everyone's posts.
As for the relationship with teammates, she's always part of the dancing videos and goofy videos.

I also haven't seen any k&c reaction that could reveal that she is upset because she deserves more.

This is really the silliest excuse for hating on Kamila I've ever read.

Not that "liking" other skaters posts should be a prerequisite for being deemed as a nice and friendly person but for all intents and purposes Kamila seems like a very friendly girl who takes an interest in her fellow colleagues' random activities.

I'm honestly baffled by the accusations that Kamila is some kind of diva. It ranks right up there on the scale of bizzare as the people who constantly predict that Anna is doomed, sometimes literally hours after she's just won a competition!!!!

I think Kamila will go to world's for that grand slam because who knows what will happen with Akatieva coming next year. I can't see Anna be willing to give up the chance to defend her title but maybe Liza will choose to rest up because she's definitely earned it. (Not sure what Sasha would choose though if she's on the Olympic team. I think she'd probably go if she's fully healed from her injury?)

Ok I've been saving Kamila's skate for later (with a bowl of durian and tea) but I just went to check her kiss and cry.

I'm by no means an Eteri fangirl but she looked fine!!!! She wasn't cross/annoyed etc
Neither was DG. They were discussing something with Kamila, there were a few smiles (I think, hard to tell with masks), Kamila waved, got a pat on the leg from Eteri.

Who is upset????? Where are people getting these notions from????? The team seemed perfectly fine to me!!!!! I thought they looked fairly pleased.

Sure there were no celebratory hysterics but when does Eteri have hysterics anyway???
