Competitions don’t matter to me when there’s objectively unfair judging, so she can take her titles and feel good about the fact that she’s getting higher points for failed elements/falls than some girls who aren’t in favor of the judges are given for completed elements that weren’t fallen on. If she can feel good about that then let her enjoy the titles. To me it devalues them, and they become worthless so I don’t care.

It's true. Anna is amazing and I wish I could see a surprise at the Olympics, but if they are both clean Kamila deserves the gold. In 2018 I still don't understand how they couldn't see that Alina was better than Evgenia, her technique and presentation were much better. Even Evgenia was overrated for me, with her muscular jumps and characteristic pantomimes. In a fair field, Evgenia barely deserved bronze.

Kamila has not win against Anna yet. RusFed decisively choose Anna over clean Kamila at nationals last season.

So Kamila is guaranteed essentially one spot. NOw who gets the second and third. .It might be easier topoint who is out. Daria is injured and gone. Aliona would need to regain the 3A and do well at the GrandPrix and Nats. Trusova is the question mark her injury and lack of training. Maia has been beaten by Anna and Liza so I guess she would beaten by them. People or some feel Liza is too old or a has been but she has been super consistent this year. NO quad but still he is doing 3 3A's in each competition Anna I would say is second but barely (but that is leaving Trusova out due to injury.. And Maia should be in the mix but is behind. There are 5 ladies with big Tech elements - Kamila, Anna, Sasha, Maia and Liza and only three get to go to the olympcs. You have to feel for them. A skater like Daria uninjured or Kostornaia would be national champions almost anywhere else maybe even the US. Russia could send their top 3 to the olympics and then their next 3 to worlds and still be very competitive.

The current world champion and 3 time national champion gets the 2nd spot unless something unforeseen happens.

She did not have a disgusted face. For me, it is her neutral expression, I did not know that the camera was focused on her, maybe a little heartbroken to know that she had nailed her skate for the first time in the season and someone else had also had the skate of her life. But I think Kami is the type of skater who can accept defeat gracefully, like Anna or Alina.

I think Anya gets the 2nd spot unless something unforeseen happens because she's the current world champion and the current 3 time Russian national champion and that carries a lot of weight. And every time she's skated against Liza head to head she's beaten her pretty easily most of the time.

That said I think if they skated next week it would be a close competition. A lot will depend on whether Anna can get her 2nd quad back I just can't see the fed not sending they're most reliable skater to the Olympics she has the clutch gene she has the mental toughness she proves it time and time again.

Should not have betted against Kamila breaking her own WR. Bad choice! I thought that it was very difficult to reproduce it back to back. Instead she managed to improve on her performance and jumps from the last outing. I do hope she still has some gas left for the Olympics.

She actually likes a lot of posts by other skaters on Instagram. To the point where I'm always seeing her name pop up and I'm like "Girl how do you have time for this when you're being so fabulous???"

Not that "liking" other skaters posts should be a prerequisite for being deemed as a nice and friendly person but for all intents and purposes Kamila seems like a very friendly girl who takes an interest in her fellow colleagues' random activities.

I'm honestly baffled by the accusations that Kamila is some kind of diva. It ranks right up there on the scale of bizzare as the people who constantly predict that Anna is doomed, sometimes literally hours after she's just won a competition!!!!

Figure skating is wild!!!!

My only concern is that this season might not be the best time to replace the -3T with a -3Lo. Her 3F(3Lz)-3Lo looked pretty good, but in practice. Is it worth the risk when she already has two relatively stable programs? She could do it probably the next season?

Yes I would really like it to be a project for after the Olympic season. Something to keep her motivated to skate

Kamila’s first junior season, I would get frustrated by her high scores even when she made major errors. However, she won me over with her Storm short and then immediately following her second place at Nationals despite a clean skate with the sudden introduction of a triple axel, shortly followed by a quad sal. Mad respect, she has earned it.

Speaking of Anna, I bet yesterday is going to benefit her as well because she is not going down without a fight. Anna is going to respond, and she is going to respond big. She will battle right up until the end. Just watch.

Kamila at this point is beating the vast majority of skaters just by showing up. Anna is certainly not the vast majority. Anna isn’t going away.

Ok I've been saving Kamila's skate for later (with a bowl of durian and tea) but I just went to check her kiss and cry.

I'm by no means an Eteri fangirl but she looked fine!!!! She wasn't cross/annoyed etc
Neither was DG. They were discussing something with Kamila, there were a few smiles (I think, hard to tell with masks), Kamila waved, got a pat on the leg from Eteri.

Who is upset????? Where are people getting these notions from????? The team seemed perfectly fine to me!!!!! I thought they looked fairly pleased.

Sure there were no celebratory hysterics but when does Eteri have hysterics anyway???

She had with one skater , and that was zhenya, but again i doubt we will ever see that eteri again like she was at that time because i doubt she will ever have such a bond with any other of her skaters like she did with zhenya.

For me shen i watched alinas free skate at olympics? Nothing came across . Not one emotion for me, as she had all her jumps in the second half the first half was boring for me personally. As alina got older she showed more emotion and seemed to connect to her programms way better than before. Its why i find it sad that alina choose to stop when in my eyes in the season with me voy and cleopatra as her programms she began to evolve in terms of feeling the music and connecting to it, and i would have loved to see where she would go futher . As zhenya is my favorite i would always choose her over alina . And yes a clean zhenya at 100% would have beaten alina. But as that is in the past and not changable we let ot rest

I dont know how unforseen it would be. While I expect Anna to do well at Nationals, she and Maiia both have an air of "hanging on" physically. If they both peak at Nationals I wouldnt be surprised, if one of them withdraws right before I wouldnt be surprised either.

I find it really funny how some people here keep telling who smiled or didn’t smile enough. They are wearing masks! how could you for sure tell their facial expressions and judge them for it, when half of the face is covered? Sorry, but some people are going legitimately crazy, when they are running out of things to pick on.

I think Kamila is a lock for the olympic team. The two last spots will be between Anna, Sasha and Liza.
Alena needs to land 3 clean 3A if she wants to beat Liza. I don’t think a clean Anna or Sasha in their current situation could beat a clean kamila. They have to land all their quads with no mistakes.

Because those are the rules. Would you rather them cancel the season, or have rules that skaters, coaches and spectators have to follow for the safety of everyone at the event?

Ask any skater that missed out on worlds how they feel about having rules vs no skating at all.

I know that is because of the rules.
It's just a rule that makes no sense considering the intimacy with the only person in a 2 meters range

For example I do asbsolutely agree on a mask obligation while moving in common areas.

She has not competed this season against anyone with a base value to beat hers. She has not competed against the reigning national and world champion. She has not competed against Sasha with her five quads. I don’t think she is the best skater in the world because she’s never had any real competition. This is saying the Lionel Messi is the best player in the world because they beat a bunch of low ranked teams before his team squares off against Ronaldo’s.
