2021-22 Japanese Nationals: Women's SP

Why Feeling Good, Yuna? You deserve better. At least it isn't Buble.

Missed the combo on her lutz, but got a 2T on the loop so that's fine I guess.

Yes. JSF seems to be pushing Wakaba at this event. I kind of saw that when I saw her GOE after her 2A. Her PCS was extremely high. But, I’m not going to complain as I want her in the team. Her Lion King free skate must be seen on the Olympic stage.

Although, I must mention, a clean 3A here by Wakaba would have put her over 80 with a big lead over the rest of the field. But, I’m still happy she decided to go safe here as placement in the final group is critical.

Ok. Now, Mai is next. 🙏🏽

Wow! Mai was brilliant! That was the better than her SP’s in the Grand Prix. She was faster and skated with so much heart. I love Mai ❤️

Should be close versus Wakaba.

Correct. But, this was Mai’s best SP skate. I personally connected more to Mai than Wakaba and would have had Mai higher due to PCS score. But, she was happy with her score and is only exactly a point away. I’m going to be heartbroken with whomever just misses out of the podium. Japan has so many brilliant skaters.

Nana was brilliant till the last jump.

Clean Mana with 3A! 👏👏👏

Wow! Mana is like, don’t you forget about me. Hamada really works wonders with her athletes. They take risks and struggle with their ultra-c elements during practice, but, are able to land those jumps when it counts. She should be in first place. But, probably, just barely ahead of Wakaba.
