He has the potential to be a much more interesting skater than that program allows. He has the artistry, but there's no real evidence of it there.

Correct, you give addition and subtraction equal priority and do them left to right (after the parenthesis). Same with multiplication and division

So off topic, but imagine how my mind was blown recently. My daughter showed me this weird complex multiplication & long division thing they're taught nowadays that's this diagonal craziness. We later talked about it again with examples. My head practically exploded when I realized that when rotating the paper 45 degrees all the numbers are in the same position as the old fashioned vertical long division/multiplication that I was taught back in the day (20+ years ago).
