Sorry if you’re offended by my opinion. Every Olympic cycle the criteria changes and enlight of the pandemic having a huge impact on what skaters have been allowed or not allowed to participate in I believe outcomes have been affected. If a skater going into nationals has absolutely no chance at making the Olympic team they should be told ahead of time. Giving false hope to these athletes is awful!

I know what my eyes saw, He would've beaten Jason Brown and Vincent Zhou no matter which continent this competition was held at and which panel was judging, And we're less than a month away from the money time

NOPE - selection criteria are not just from Nationals. They look at body of work and scores and international placements from past year. Don't select on a single competition.
The teams were not predetermined. They were chosen based on the stated criteria.
They robbed Nakano twice and Oda/Kozuka when the chosen ones underperformed. When the podium is their chosen ones things are easy.

I would think that Jason, Nathan and perhaps Vincent will retire. So Llia most likely has the next 4 years to himself.
Honestly Jason does so well because he is American.
There are only so many who can do quads.
If it's graceful movements, there are many many dancer around the world who focus on perfecting artistry.
Ilia has noticeable gotten better this year, I don't understand why one new guy who was 2nd place, with clean performances and 4 quads, is said to be underserving of going to Olympics.
This is stagnation. It's like using 6.0 system in low level competitions.
So much love and attention is given to older skater. They are more artistic. They are more deserving. When they lose, the PCS should have been higher.

Clearly USFS thought Jason was the correct choice, and met their selection criteria.

Unfortunately, since he has represented USA, he is not going to be able to secure release to anywhere and has to watch DaVinchi code unfold again and again.

According to the criteria published they did not have that option. I do think they may have changed the criteria.

Yes because what we've learned in the past couple of years is that we can definitely plan ahead super far,
So why take advantage of opportunities as they are presented so clearly

I'm deciding to look at this as win-win. Ilia has had an amazing nationals after not even being able to compete at last year's due to injury/covid situation, won a silver medal at his senior nats debut, and proven he can deliver under pressure. And Jason gets to show off his beautiful programs on the huge stage of the Olympics (I cannot wait to see Sinnerman on Olympic ice!), hopefully en route to a team medal.
