I think everyone should keep in mind it is a National championship. Not an Olympic trials. It’s rumbling around in my mind that there’s an actual reason we don’t have an Olympic trials. But I can’t remember what it is.

Two reasons to send someone to the Olympics (or really any major competition: win a medal or gain experience. Ilia could’ve (potentially) done both. Jason….. not so much. Vincent… eh.

Ok, if they want to then do it. That's fine. Nothing is stopping him. I couldn't care less about nationality in skating. If it's best for Ilya to skate for Russia. He should. Why wouldn't he do what's best for himself? The USFS is doing what said it would based on selection criteria. It is also going what it thinks is best in the team event. Ilya should also do what he thinks is best!

Oh, boy. If skaters skated to it, then it must be great… if you are trying to impress me with naming the venerated greats, well, i don’t care for idols and divas. I just want fairness. Skaters get what they skated for. People who clearly won get assignments they ostensibly fought for. The young, hopeful and talented not being shafted for old, dispirited and propped. It always angers me when people get shafted.

I think people reserve the right to have a different opinion. I love John Williams's work, absolutely adore it, but Schindler's List is not my favorite even if it won multiple awards because it doesn't match my taste.

Thank you for your concern. I can do monologues and there is no other figure skating board I am aware of.
