falling in the sp is still somehow ok in competitions like this, but at the Olympics? some of the girls from other nations have the 3ax and good Pcs. and crazy things happen at the Olys. this time it's not going to be an all-Russian party. of course judges will love Kamila, who seems to come from a non-human dimension, but I don't see them loving Trusova that much if non-Russian girls deliver and she fails the Ax. ok Trusova has the quads but she also has injuries and nerves. taking risk with the axel has a logic only if her mindset is set to "gold or nothing", meaning that she doesn't care for silver or bronze. after all, in 2010 Mao Asada's goal was to beat Yuna and take the crown from her. so she took the risks by attenpting 3 3axels. silver or bronze didn't seem appealing to her.
I think Sasha believes she needs 3A to have a chance to beat Kamila but whatever she loses to other girls in SP if falling on it, she can make up for in FS with her quads - see Worlds 2021.

So sad that the "elite" of skating has already started spitting hatred on Anna, demanding that Liza be sent to the Olympics as if Liza were the queen of consistency.
Unable to forgive a mistake by Anna but can the mistakes of others be overlooked? It is truly surprising if we notice that it is the first time that Anna has lost a combination or fell in a triple jump in the last two seasons.

That's because the 3A was downgraded to 2A. So instead of BV 8.00 minus ~ 4-5 points for GOE and the dedution for the fall it was BV 3.30 minus 2.65. So if it wasn't for the downgrade and with a PCS scoring like today Kamila would have been well above 80 points.
It wasn’t downgraded. It was BV 8bas per protocol

Why would Trusova give it up if she has it with 70% success rate in practice? She will do what she can do to succeed.
I saw reports of her practices. Her success rate is definitely nowhere near 70 percent. It's actually quite low. However, she wants to land it. It's important to her. She should do what she wants, everyone has different goals. She wants to set records and accomplish technical feats. Let her.

Absolutely. I just go by what she says.

Aha, "seen reports from practice". And that's why you fancy setting general percentages? That's ridiculous. Or do you have continuously recorded training sessions from Khrustalny available? Hardly likely.

Yeah I know Anna has 2 off skates by her her reputation and Liza had like 3 bad years after she won the world title in 2015 and hasn't won a medal at Russian nationals in 7 years. But the howling will really pick up if Anna does not make the podium.

Of course you never hear EG say anything publicly to protect Anna her 3rd daughter and it's starting to piss me off.

Unfortunately the bad skate in the SP proceeds a less than stellar FS at Nationals (which let's be real if you ignore the inflated Nationals score it wasn't terrible, she fell on a jump only a handful of skaters attempt and had an ugly landing on a backloaded triple-triple). I don't think Shcherbakova has a problem getting on the podium tomorrow unless she really screws up, but I don't know if an okay skate shuts up the press. I read a practice report that she didn't do any quads today though, she says the taped knee is not a problem but no quads the day prior to the FS sounds bad. Maybe they are just being conservative on her attempts since she was doing them a couple days ago.

So the rate for 3A today was 75%. This is for @readernick's information only.
Ok 👌 . Happy to hear that! Love Sasha! I hope she fulfills her goals. In every practice session, I have watched she has landed a bunch of quads ( some which she went on to pop in the competitions) and really struggled with the 3A. If this changed, great! I'm happy to be proven wrong! Sasha's a favorite of mine, more for her personality than her skating. She's nerdy and adorable. I love her. So, I want only good things do her. Most important, stay healthy!
