I just adore the fact that they are intensely competitive and strive to win, yet when the competition is over they can be super goofy with each other regardless of the results. It's really lovely to see and very healthy imo!!!

Alena posted a photo with Anna and her gold medal from Worlds and captioned it "Many things were said about you but I believed. This is exactly the colour of medal you deserve. Further-greater." It was sweet, and Anna really does seem like all the girls' favourite, Kamila and Sasha have said they're closest to her too, I believe.

Aliona also said that Anna was the most supportive to her together with Daria when she's broken her arm. I can understand that, remember the fracture Anna suffered five years ago (that would be probably career ending for most of the skaters) so she has to understand Aliona's feelings perfectly.

Anna is the best. In the Eteri interview, she mentioned Anna as never saying anything bad about anyone. She always does her tasks as she is told to do. Furthermore, her loyalty to her coach is admirable and all the girls from the camp get along with her due to her humble character.
I also admire her stance on taking as much precaution with her mask wearing heading into the Olympic Games.

I think everything went ideal for both Anna and Kamila today.
Anna needed a clean skate, to shut up the angry little people who were praying for her downfall, assure RusFed and mostly to assure herself mentally.
Kamila, imo, is better off with a flawed showing here than if she had been "perfect" again. A 15yo who is riding a 15ft wave of success in a media frenzy can easily start feeling too comfortable and sure of themselves and actually end up underperforming in Bejing. To me she looked a bit too self assured and smiley when taking the ice today and I think it serves her brilliantly having made mistakes here.
Like this she stays alert, motivated and focused. Leave the best for last as they say and I really hope that will be her singles event in Bejing.
As for Sasha - at this point one of my sole wishes in figure skating is to see this girl skate 2 clean programs in seniors with her planned content. I know it has happened at some point but it truly is hard to recall by now. I get her strategy and all that but from a purely selfish viewer's perspective, it's just so frustrating to always see her fall and never witness a clean cohesive program. I get the strategy and all, but *sigh*.

What a skate Anna! A new PB and exorcising demons both inner ones and out. Plushenko and Mishin have been thwarted. They thought they could replace a rightful Olympian like they did in 2014. Shame on these partisan hacks.

I'm a big Anna fan but thats not a habit I share with her or masks in general.
My thing is that its been said that athletes will have to show a negative covid test to be able to compete at the Olympics; if I were in an athlete's shoes right now a few weeks out from the Games, I would be taking every ridiculous precaution to not get sick, not just for the inconvenience/ramifications of 'getting sick' but that it will take them out of even having a shot to skate at 1 of the biggest events of their career.

It is a real torture to watch the competitions live, but it is more rewarding when one of your favorite skaters, who has been harassed with so much hate, has delivered it.
Yes, I'm talking about Anna, the best skating of the night! She really is a fighter, strong, smart, determined.
I was so nervous when she came out on the ice but as she landed each jump the tension was gone, truly the best performance of this free skate all season.

Has Sasha said why she hasn't been wearing her newspaper dress for her free the last few competitions? It's such a cool dress to just not wear and the black one she does wear is very plain. Plus she brings it along to wear on the podium, so obviously she likes the dress. Just find it strange.

I think she said it wasn't comfortable to skate in..They could perhaps just add a little bit more detail to her dress she uses for the actual skate. I get the impression she likes it probably quite simple no distractions .. bit like Nathan. More relaxed minimal easier to move and jump in. Then obviously loves the full on one but guessing it's not practical for her. I hope some comprise can be made. Nice to see a bit of the red in it. Black white hair would be cool..
