No. It doesn’t actually make sense to split the men up. Can you imagine RUS winning team Gold? The men not delivering. But, Pairs, Ladies and Dance teams bail them out and then the end result is both Mark K. and Kolyada with a gold medal and all the accolades associated with being an Olympic Champion, while Anna S. and Alexandra T. don’t get gold because Kamila skated all four portions and won Olympic Gold. To me, it is obvious that each camp will be pleading a case to split up their event and the ones with more power, will be the ones who RUS will cater to. This being the Ladies event (top 3 at Worlds) and Pairs (1,3,4 at Worlds). Those two categories deserve to have their portions of the event split up to maximize and give these athletes an opportunity to get their gold at the start of the Olympics. Also, these are the individuals most capable of winning a medal at the individual events. So, it is best to let them rest. As for the Men, I hope those rumours of Mark K. are true. Yes, it is a lot to have to skate four times. But, he is not going to say NO, to the team event and a likely gold medal.

Yes, but Mozalenko has nothing to do with it. Neither will skate in a team event. Just pick one and stop this torment.

Yeah, but two of them have better chance of delivering than either. Imo Kondratyuk’s short looks fresher, because by the time he finishes skating his free, it is more obvious that he is not as polished as others skating next to him. He will look at a disadvantage. And Kolyada’s short is not great, while his free is amazing.

It's unclear whether they voted now, voted before Euros, or even didn't vote at all. There is a PR onslaught currently happening in the Russian media.
Mishin wants Semenenko at the Olympics as a compensation for Kolyada and Liza? That's one version. As the Euros are over, there are a lot of coaches currently pushing their skaters and negotiating deals, so I don't expect it to be resolved quickly.

I just saw Kogan’s quote that no decision was made on Kondratyuk vs Kolyada either. At this point, I just hope that all the skaters remain sane and let the old men play their games. Thanks to all three guys for skating beautifully in the gala.

This reminded me, Kondratiuk has a nice sense of humour. When he was asked if he was nervous at Nebelhorn, he replied "only in the sense that if I don't confirm the third spot, I am dead". And that every guy was sitting there going "please don't send me to Nebelhorn, please don't send me to Nebelhorn...". And that was just an Olympics spot, not a gold medal for a bunch of people on the line. Of course the reward is greater, but Sokolovskaya sounded rather nervous when asked about it. Not knowing if you will be picked on top of the responsibility itself must add to this.
