Guys, who of you saw Shoma in real life and up close? I know Arriba627 did, but who else did? I thought if he was assigned to perform in a GP event in my country I would do something to gothere to see hime live but now my country turned into "North Korea" and got banned from everything including figure skating competitions, now try to guess where I am from?! lol So I will probably never ever see him (( Poor poor me (

Alas! I hope somehow you will be able to see Shoma live. He is very special.

I saw Shoma live at World's 2016. Hi technique was not textbook, but his performance was absolutely engagingly electric! I have been a fan ever since.
🥰🎁

How closely did you see him though?
I am not sure how on earth I will be able to see him live before he retires, although I think he will skate for another 4 years I am sure. My country is North Korea-like now, in the future I have plans immigrating to another country which is an English-speaking country but not a figure skating one at all, so there will be no figure skating competitions held there ((

Welcome to our new forum friends. It's great to have so many Shoma fans together in one place. Shoma's brilliance breaks down all barriers and frontiers.
The Stephane/Shoma video is so warm. Teamwork does make the dream work.🙂

I saw him at the beginning of 2020 at the Challenge Cup which took place in The Hague in the Netherlands (next years in the city of Tilburg, Netherlands).
He was gorgeous. I'm watching the video of his free skate from time to time, it was so good. (And the few minutes which it lasted were over very quickly, naturally, so, I couldn't recognize all the details while watching him live.)

How closely did you see him? Is he the the same good-looking and cute in real life as on screen? )

Did you watch his both programs or just the free skate? I remember after his finished his short program there and was getting off the ice, one of the volunteer girls forgot to take off the blade covers and fell down on the ice, Shoma looked at her very funny (I saw it on youtube)

I know. But one can travel to Switzerland from Russia, &;although I hear there are complications, I also hear it is not impossible.
It is not im[possible; but would cost an absolute fortune, plus I am not sure if they still grant any visas for us? I heard that Japan stopped granting visas to Russians, I guess the rest countries followed their example.

I am sorry but Twitter, Instagram and Facebook are blocked in Russia, so if you post any links to those I wont be able to see anything

I almost bumped into him and Stephane when they entered the hall at the first day when I was going to go outside. So, I was involuntarily very close to him. Of course, he looks like in the videos. Afterwards, I heard that Shoma had given autographs to fans on the last day, there. I've missed this, unfortunately, so, there would have been much more possibility for me to watch Shoma live.

Hello! I am new as well, I registered on this site to do two things - talk about Shoma which I love and practice my English lol!!
Nice to meet you all!

Hello Everyone!
I'm new here, but I'm a Shoma's fan since Olympics 2018. I've read a lot of your posts (not all, not yet) and I felt like joining this forum, because I think you are all very nice.
So wonderful to have some new people here! Welcome to our 🎢 Shollercoaster ride. You've picked a great time to join us, although any time is a good time to become a fan of Shoma. It's almost time to obsess about ice shows, costumes, new programs, GP assignments, the Uno puppies, etc. Oh no, you're reading all the old posts! :drama: :slink: (pause--quickly checks her last 4,000 posts).

We've all been through a lot of good times and some sad times together here (mostly good!). But hopefully what comes through in all of it is how much we love Shoma. We don't put him on a pedestal and expect him to be perfect. In fact part of what is so fun about him is that he is so relatable in so many ways. His extraordinary talent and musicality, athleticism, and passion make him such a special skater...Post often and never give up on being able to see him. You never know what will happen. He is really exciting live and always an audience favorite!

I watched both programs, i.e. also Grespi which was his short program. It was also very good. Yes, I remember seeing - across the rink - one volunteer girl falling. So, it's all real what you see in the videos.

I've re-watched that Dancing On My Own video so many times from the Challenge Cup. I felt that was the best he ever skated that program. That was right before all the Covid problems started. Little did we realize what a drought there would be for figure skating. Hopefully that's over with for now.,
