2022-23 Cup of Russia - Stage 4 - Moscow

Interesting how RF went from blatantly underscoring Liza to blatantly overscoring her in 2 seasons.
I guess it's supposed to be atonement for their wrongdoings?

But being serious, there are quite some factors seemingly playing into this. One is the increased age limits (i.e. older skaters are now more valuable), the other is the comparably smaller gap between the current and future generations (compared to the gap 3A had for example) and the waning influence of specific coaches on scores as talent is distributed among multiple coaching teams instead of being concentrated in one school (i.e. at least a semi-reversal to a system of seniority scoring).

Yes, also everybody she competed with in the past is now gone or injured. So she is the last one standing xd

Lisa was solid enough, tho. Good for her to get a gold. Honestly, still better than Andrews>You lol.

Oh, pairs are after women! I want to see B/P’s skate. I was sad when P/P started to not work out…

Ouch, you can’t keep Akopova on ice like that. Please, WD, it’s just not right!

A healthy approach in these circumstances, I should say. I was like 🤯 at some scores, so better enjoy the show without assessment
I thought it would be like that before the season even started, because of the weird situation and at the same time an overhaul of scoring system. It will be ā€˜just like 6.0’ system for a while when you just accept whatever judges lifted up.

Tutberidze’s star is going down. Lol, in years past they would have never let Akatyeva to end behind Murav’yeva either…
I think it's more other schools producing as good skaters than Tut's star going down. Since there are skaters from other schools doing ultra-C and being consistent (or semi-consistent), there is no reason to support just some skaters anymore. For example, since last year Plushy's skaters are getting nice scores. Liza did well till Rusnats. I think we are in a new era in which Tutberidze isn't guaranteed at least two medals at nats.

Edit: Also, the fact that Akatieva is going to be junior internationally for 3 years while the others are seniors is playing here. No need to promote her for the moment. Others need the points more, in case they are allowed back.

Guys, what is the added value of Mura going for 3A-3T? If she is going to do the second 3A then repeating the 3T is not advantageous. So why learn it at all?
