Ladies Short Program

Watching warm-up now...I have a feeling my feed's going to zap out on me soon, though. Yu-Na's new dress is lovely.

Oh no, poor Yu-Na. If only she hadn't fallen. She even looked slow. Will she ever catch a break from injuries?

My heart is pounding...
My feed spazzed and I missed the beginning of her program. *sigh*
Her SLSS is lovely, though. Improved expression
Layback spin, good arch, not so good leg, into side, into Biellmann
Some fun choreo
Ina Bauer into 2A, lovely
Final combo spin, a bit slower than usual but decent positions.
Behind music.

She had a mistake somewhere, but I'm not sure where...I think the 3Z? Otherwise I think she was okay. Let's check slo-mo...3F-3T, good, but yeah the 3Z had a really bad landing. She also seems to be lacking in conditioning right now.

I wish Rochette had gone for the 3/3. That was the whole point of putting it in all season. And she did a really good job on it at 4CC (I didn't think it deserved the downgrade there). Oh well, at least she didn't totally put herself out of contention in the short, which is what she's done in the past. The LP is usually her stronger suit.

She really couldn't go for 3/3 as she landed the flip a little low. The flip wasn't badly off but off enough that 3/3 is impossible.

I'm incredibly sad for Yu-na. I hope she fights back in the LP. She is such a hardworker and so beautiful on ice.

Performance aside, I'm soooo disappointed with Yu-na's new SP dress. This dress really DOES make Yu-na look like a baby ballerina - it makes her look immature. I like the blue dress waaaaaaaay better. It looked classy on her. If you cover her shoulders it just kills her lithe shoulder line. I hope LP dress is better.

Also, she skated real slow for her standard. Looked very tentative and injured.

They certainly are up to their old tricks of holding up their favs. No way should Yuna be ahead of Joannie. She did not have the flow or speed that she usually does. That's why I'm sure Kimmie will be in the top 5 after the short no matter what.

I would have never expected to say this, but Yu-Na was fairly scored.
I wouldn't worry though, she will be back stronger on the LP

Feed is back for a little bit.

3Z-2T, lovely
3S, light
Flying upright spin, interesting
Spiral sequence, very steady
2A, nice
Layback, her leg position has gotten a lot better as well
SLSS, she is very lovely but nothing is really high-impact
Final combo spin, she is a fine spinner if not too bendy

Lovely skater.
