Ladies Short Program

WHAT!!!!! 9th......what the heck is going on with these judges? People have fallen and have scored higher. I guess the US will probably not have 3 spots next year. What a joke!!

ITA what are the judges smoking? Because I totally do not get the placement of certain skaters

Korpi does not deserve to be in 4th. Sarah Meier skated flawlessly and is behind her??? And I thought Kimmie should have been ahead of Korpi, too. To the average viewer, it is obvious that Kimmie was robbed, big time. This scoring system is mystifying and probably still corrupt.

If I am not mistaken Meissner had the same jump content at Liang. I am anxious to see the programs to see where the 5 points difference came from!

I had the same reaction after th apirs SP. Did I see the same thing as the judges? What is the deal???

Kimmie must have had a UR jump call. I thought she'd be 5th or 6th! Not sure what's going on here today. There certainly is a bunch that are close for the 3rd place that's for sure. Fortunately one of the stongest in this group in the LP would be Joannie. I can't see Korpi staying up there but with this marking who knows.

With only 7 points between 8th and 1st..gonna be a wild night tomorrow

Anyways, that's it from me, ladies..s'been fun "watching" together with you :)

With the 3-9 scores the way they are, Kimmie can still contend for a medal. With Bebe in 10th, maybe the 3 US spots are saveable.

Wish, wish, wish - and the skategods willing!

My dream podium:

Carolina
Mao
Yu-Na

Ok, my dream podium would have Yu-Na on top but it's impossible at this point. I also love Mao to pieces but Carolina is a sentimental favourite. And, honestly speaking, I don't think Carolina will win at all... Maybe she won't even medal. Her nerves will kill her tomorrow for sure.

Anways, a great podium would also be:

Mao
Carolina
Yu-Na

or

Mao
Rochette
Carolina

or

Mao
Rochette
Yu-na

There are so many, I love them so much and most of the medals are still up for grabs.

Sorry to barge in. I've been following the pbps (thanks for those who did them) here in Hong Kong (it's past 1 a.m. already), and I really don't get the judging. From the pbps, it would seem that Sarah and Kimmie had the best SPs of this season by far, and yet they're so low in the standings, esp. Kimmie. Can the people who has watched the programs tell me whether they had seen obvious underrotations from either of them? Thanks. But still, this judging is just madness. It's not just holding up and holding down, it's just all over the place.

The top 6 will comprise the final LP group, correct?

01 Kostner 64.28
02 Asada 64.10
03 Nakano 61.10
04 Korpi 60.58
05 Yu-Na Kim 59.85
06 Rochette 59.53

Help with streaming

Would somebody be so kind as to explain 1) how one navigates the Daum site in Korean to find the SBS feed or 2) why the SBS feed from free TV would not bring up video?

Or simply undermarked. The worst part is, we don't even know who did it.

Weird judging aside, when was the last time we had such a great ladies SP (no splatfest at all from the top 10 aside from a couple of falls) and such an exciting LP to come? I just can't wait for tomorrow!

ITA!! DETEST this anonymous judging! Every one of them should be accountable for the marks they gave AND be able to back them up with the reasons why! It's ludicrous that they can "hide" behind 'anonymous.'

I don't get Korpi's score and placement. Nothing really good about her skating, at least not today. quite a few should have been ahead of her IMO.

I was really happy for Kimmie to have skated her program pretty clean. I was almost in tears with her after she stepped off the ice, and looked so relieved and happy.

But I think the judging is probably fair. She began with a pretty wobbly spiral sequence, under-rotated the 2T in her combo, had low height on the 3F (and lipped), and then had a couple of iffy spins that weren't centered or fast and she didn't quite hit the positions either. I don't think she got high GOE or levels for her spins. And she also had less flow and confidence than she did in her SP at TEB.

But her score is really close to 6 or 7 girls right in front of her, so the LP will determine the final outcome.

I think skating order really did play a part today. And with all the good skates ahead of them those in the final group who made big mistakes got really dinged. That's why I think Kimmie got a UR jump. It's also funny that those who had the harder jumping passes didn't place the highest. A few did but not that many. What message is this sending after all the talk of 3/3, which we didn't see alot of attemps today. Korpi even did a 3Loop not a flip and she placed ahead of those who did the flip.

Seriously, how did she compare to Liang? It sounded like Liang was solid and Meissner was a bit hesitant. Didn't Liang do the same jumps? Were her other elements as ify as Meissner's?
