Or maybe professional stalker? Well at first I just randomly named dropped Milla, but when @Jumping_Bean confirmed her former partner was in fact at ice dance search, I did some deeper look into the possibility and found a lot of clues that could confirm it. The more I looked into it, the more convinced I got.

According to Mia Risa Gomez skating club, she is in Colorado Springs now training with team US

Gabriele Frangipani has been in Norway this week (Bergen) and working with Norwegian skaters. That is him and Daniil Valanov on the picture , who I hope we will see in JGP this season. It looks from Daniils story that Gabriele choreographed a program for him. Excited about this!

Just checked the webpage and Daniil will fill the two spots for Norway in the mens field. It will be the JGP in Linz and Gdansk. So exciting, that will be the first time since 2016 that Norway has a male skater at JGP.

Also, the ladies selection is done. A bit surprising that they only selected two skaters for spot and substitute. Pernille With got JGP in Linz and Gdansk, Oda Havgar is substitute. Oda Havgar got Budapest, but Pernille With is substitute. Do I remember wrong or could a skater only be competing at two JGP? Because if so, it´s a bit odd that Pernille is substitute for Oda, if she has to step in she can´t do the last JGP? So then Oda has to skate, but if she WD because of injury then there is really no one to fill the last JGP which seems a bit waste of spots for Norway, as there are many talented young ladies. I´m not sure if last minute entries is permitted?

Ice Dance made an interview with Milla & Nikolaj!

So it´s confirmed they train in Oberstdorf and that the coaches are Rostislav Sinicyn and Natalia Karamisheva.

Milla and Nikolaj have known each other for years from training camps, and after he had tried Ice Dance for fun, he asked Milla to skate with her for fun while he was in Norway, and quote:

"“I knew from the first time we skated, I had to be skating with her,” Majorov confessed. So he did!

It seems that the reason Milla and her former partner Nikita never got to compete much was because Nikita struggled with injury.

According to Nikolaj, the hardest thing is to learn the basic, and the easiest part is the lifts.

“The easiest stuff has been the lifts,” he admitted. “Milla is very acrobatic, and it makes for really good teamwork. We are doing lifts both never tried before and especially I never thought I could do.”

When I heard about the partnership, I thought they would be a good match because Nikolaj seems strong and Milla acrobatic so hopefully we will see some interesting lifts.

Communication wise, they speak Norwegian/Swedish to each other and enjoys having their own language that the Germans don´t understand at the rink

Nothing about programs yet, but they want to compete as soon as possible.

Well I don´t know much Spanish and Italian so I don´t know the similarities, but I guess so. In general we understand each other well, but there are words in between that are different, so we maybe have to ask what a word means.

Younger generations in particular could have a problem understanding each other, and some of them make the "mistake" of rather communicating in English. So I was a bit afraid that Nikolaj and Milla would speak English to each other, but since Milla is from the Oslo, she has a dialect that it´s easier for Swedes to understand.

I grew up watching a lot of Danish and Swedish television shows, so it has never been difficult for me to understand it. I also used to work with a lot of Swedes in Norway in earlier jobs, and we spoke Norwegian / Swedish to each other. I loveeee Swedish television shows, so I watch a lot of them.

I think I would even be able to speak Swedish instead of Norwegian, but I have a special interest in learning it.

Interesting though, I noticed that Anne Line Gjersem spoke Swedish to her (Swedish) coach. She moved to Sweden to train figure skating. I guess she rather was more comfortable with just learning and speaking the Swedish language than speaking Norwegian once she moved to Sweden. She went to school there too so maybe it was just easier to adapt the whole language instead of having to explain different words.

ISU has published the competition list for next season, and Norway will host Sonja Henie Trophy in March next year in Oslo!!

I´m so excited about them finally having an international competition that isn´t Nordics or JGP!!

Sweden will also be hosting Nordics next year, but location says TBD.

Iceland will have Reykjavik International Games as usual, and Finland will have Finlandia Trophy and GP.

Next season looks like a good competition year for the Nordics countries

I´m so excited about them finally having an international competition that isn´t Nordics or JGP!!

Sweden will also be hosting Nordics next year, but location says TBD.

Iceland will have Reykjavik International Games as usual, and Finland will have Finlandia Trophy and GP.

Next season looks like a good competition year for the Nordics countries

I know!! Crazy! Since it´s in Oslo it´s not very difficult to get there, I can take a direct bus. I even have friends there so if hotels would be too expensive I can ask to stay there. But you know, people don´t care about figure skating so much in Norway so it´s probably just normal prices and March is not tourist season. And tickets will probably not be very difficult to get hold on, even if I decide last minute. I will have it as a placeholder in my calendar and wait and see about the entries. But this is one thing I should plan for.

Only sad thing is that it´s very close to JWC and WC, probably all the big names won´t go. But still, maybe a lot of the good skaters who didn´t get a spot at JWC and WC will go instead, it could still be a lot of exciting skaters.

All of a sudden there will competition for Milla&Nikolaj in Ice Dance. Sweden went from 0 to 2 ID teams in no time

It´s going to be really interesting to see if any of them will get EC minimums in their first competition season, if both will them get in time - I guess there will be a skate off at Nationals?

On a total shallow note: Erik really looks like he belongs in ID.

Actually the The Skating Union made an update short time afterwards, where they address this issue. They say if a scenario where one of the skaters get injured and they can´t send the reserve (basically the scenario I suggested), Mia Risa Gomez and Linnea Kilsand are replaced in that order. It says though, that if it collide with a Challenger, they will prioritize the Challenger.

I will continue later because I have to start working soon and edit this post. But some Nordic GP speculation.

Finlands TBD canditates to women are Janna Jyrkinen, who already has a post at GP France. If we look the wolrd standings, The first three are Janna, Olivia Lisko and Oona Ounasvuori. If we look official season best, then it would be Janna, Linnea Ceder and Nella Pelkonen. One more canditate are Emmi, whos condition is a ?, I thought there was more, but I did not notice juniors are on the list too. There maybe also some black horses like Minja Peltonen, who got maybe a little bit surprsingly bronze at nationals. But she competed mostly in juniors. I don't know how the selections are made, only info local fed gives is "the selections will be made according to ISU criteria". So I suppose they demand that the suggested minimums are done and these girls have all done it. Maybe there is some kind of camp where they check the skaters competition, maybe someone else knows better.

Makar S. got a host spot and as he has clearly best SB from last season he deserves one. If the local men are chosen it will be between Matias Lindfors and Arttu Juusola, or then they choose somebody else, Kyrylo is not Nordic but as he trains in Finland he is a canditade. I can take any of them. Andreas Nordeback has two spot and one in Finland is filled, so I think the forum member who quessed he has a Finland's host spot should have it right.

In ID easy selection and I am happy Milania/Philippo have got a host spot. It seems that only the Finns and Andreas from Nordic countries have got GP spots so far, if I looked right. Outside homespots Juulia/Matthias in ID would have had 2 spots anyway, Janna's France spot and Andreas got US spot. There are a lot of TBDs, how is the situation with Crafoords?

Selections for Espoo GP are made based on the opening event of the season for National team skaters. Kesäkisa=Summer competition will take place in Espoo August 12th-13th. Skaters need to be ready so early. The competition for the GP slots surely gives lots of motivation to train hard during the summer. TT, are you coming to FT and/or GP? I have already purchased all events for both.

I hope my head will be more positive and engaged then to make decent conversation , but at some point I need to take some time off work, so why not GP Espoo again? I am curious about TBD spots, will definitely keep an eye on them.
Plus will try to prepare cheering and gifting galore with me.

I don't know will the Finnish FT team be announced August 13th. Last year it was published in September, later than the GP participants. Very interesting selections ahead. Janna is not selected yet for GP, but if she has been healthy, she will make it. Personally, I would really like to see Matias Lindfors at least at FT.
