I really like Kimmie. She is a sweet girl with plenty of talent. Sometimes I think she is a bit hyped up for being the "All-American" type of girl that has been missing from US figure skating lately (Michelle Kwan, etc. and now Mirai and Caroline), and with that look... people want Sasha Cohen, which Kimmie certainly is not. I would love to see her put in one more competitive season and do her best. But in all honesty, I would be very disappointed if she sacrificed college, etc. to continue to pursue skating through the upcoming Olympics or beyond. She has amazing achievements behind her... a World Championship, Nationals, top 10 at the Olympics. That is a DREAM for most skaters. But in reality, Kimmie will never be the next Michelle Kwan or Sasha Cohen for the US or world. If she has a solid next season, I think she should stop skating competitively and pursue other things in life. I'm sure there are plenty of doors open for her, and it would be a shame to see her miss those opportunities to keep on skating just for the sake of it when the upcoming skaters will be at their prime come next Worlds and Olys.
Also, don't forget that Mao and Yu-Na are only one year younger than Kimmie and both have survived puberty and are continuing to skate beautifully and maintaining their jumps.
