2023 Sectional Series August (Skate Ontario) | Aug 18-20

I didn't like this program either (the music). I feel that it's not cohesive and they will need to score well on the elements because I don't think it will upstage some of the other programs we have seen already in the "memorability" department. The step sequence was stellar though.
I love the music, but not with these cuts and maybe not (yet) for Lia and Trennt.

Caidence and Raine... sort of a similar program too... Not sure what their teams are thinking in terms of programs this year for all these 3 teams.

The twist was not good. A couple level issues but the SBS jump and throw were solid.

The twist remains an issue for Caidence and Raine, as does the sbs spin. Good sbs jumps and an upgraded throw (they did 3STh last season and are now doing 3LzTh).

Already forgot what music they skated to, lol 😅

Thought Caidence and Raine would have been closer to Lia and Trennt - more like 59-60 since they did higher level SBS and throw.

novice men warming up... so they are again a bit late.... will be watching junior and senior men. and sort of looking at the novices too while i am here....

James Moskowitz, amazing hair, good skating, 2a, 2f-2t, 2loop. Good steps. Skating to a "modern" version of Bach's Toccata and Fugue in d minor.

Rui Qin

hehe :) skating to Nemesis, with his ambitious layout and his all-black gear, we can see where the musical choice comes from :)
3lutz, 3flip-2t, easy 2a. good extension and flexibility on spins. Andrew Evans has a good student here...

henrick chan

wearing black tux pants with white tux jacket... and doing 007

nice 2a, tight 3s, going nuts in the SSeq= fun stuff, 2lz-2t,, laborious spin at the end.

Darn...have to make a choice between watching men here or BC ice dance. Decisions, decisions, eh?
