Hayley McGuire had some nice moments but ran out of steam and expression after the midpoint. I am sure it will improve through the season.

Rough skate for Valeria I think this is her first season as a Senior, she looks like she needs a hug.

Valeria’s jumps weren’t there today but she didn’t give up the programme which was lovely. Perhaps early season issues but loved her skating

Cristina didn’t look happy but she has the framework of a nice free programme.

Nice!! So same free program from two seasons ago. Good to know. Hopefully, she can build on this on her way to Challenge. She is going to need ten more points if she wants a chance at Nationals (Top 18).

Elise Dawson also struggled with the end of her programme. But some lovely moments. I meant to compliment Cristina’s opening triple toe double axel. No replay so not sure rotated but looked good

Elise fought for those landings, maybe an invalidated combo there, I think she put a foot down between jumps? I guess replays are for the marquee events. Free 79.70, total 132.50 into first.

I’m going to grab dinner and run an errand and will join in thirty minutes!!
I’m undecided who to root for between Kaiya and Gabby. I also want the want that loses this dual, to at least attain 166, so they have a Challenger event to train for.

Minsol is in a class of her own. Hopefully, she doesn’t pop the salchow this time.

Also, maybe, with the pressure off, Breken will skate lights out

Costume wise we have Breken, Gabby and Kaiya in purple and sparkly while Bella and Minsol are in red and sparkly.

Bella really rotates fast in the air! A few times where she was short on rotations but overall good. Needs more refinement but very promising. 94.49. 147.58

Bella - fall on her loop, I think she got the opening 3S-2A-2A but the camera was blocked for the final jump in it. Fall in the second half, I could see her thinking into the 3S-2T but she got it. She should make Nationals this season. Free 94.49 total 147.58 into first.

Breken - two falls to open with, I think she did an invalid second sequence in the second half? I'll have to see how the protocol counted that jumping pass after the 3 jump combo. I think she took herself out of the TBD spot

Kaiya - Titanic. Hand down on the first jump, two footed on the third jump. I am a sucker for My Heart Will Go On. I think she popped her loop into a double in the second half. My cat is not happy with me so I may have missed something. Not sure about this yet, I want it to be bigger if she's skating to Celine Dion.

Gabrielle - popped second jump, stumble on the third jump. No combos in the first half? I think she had more power than Kaiya, still coming back. I'd give the TBD spot to Uliana after this weekend. Free 101.71, total 163.42 into first.

They gave Fee Ann a Challenger without meeting 166 last season. She was close at 165, but didn't go over it during her domestic competitions.
