Couple of corrections.

Dr. Spock is not the same person as Mr. Spock. Dr. Spock was a real human that studied family dynamics. (Learnt that last week from Jack Byrnes in "Meet The Parents". And you don't argue with him!) Mr. Spock, meanwhile, is a real vulcan.

of course. I agree on all fronts. I think it had an effect on me because 1) she is coming from Brazil and trains there so it's already a huge achievement to compete at that level. 2) she had to overcome the establishment to be allowed to compete.
