Cohen to be contortionist on reality TV Show!!!

purplecat excerpt:
I'm glad Sasha moved on, but this show is pretty bad. I'll only watch it when Sasha's on again!

Just curious. Are you glad that Sasha moved on because: you are a big fgure skating fan of Sasha? Or: Sasha was really the most promising contestant?

Yes, the show is pretty bad.

Both. I'm happy because I am a fan of Sasha's. I also thought she and Mya were the two who should move on. I actually thought Mya was the best of all, but since two move on I thought it was fair that Sasha moved on. I thought both Clint Black's comedy and George Takei's singing were terrible (and I actually like both of them too, just not in their secret talent). I wonder though if the show will last long enough for Sasha's second round! The ratings were not good.

I guess I was right about it not lasting! At least Sasha got to be on the first show...that sucks for those waiting to be on the future shows. That's Hollywood for ya!

It was so bad that it's been cancelled!!!

So, we won't see Sasha again.... Or anyone else's hidden talents

Can't say I'm shocked. It was pretty cheesy though, and I probably wouldn't have watched again anyway.

And besides that, the late start time (why??), the way the voting was set up (why not have fans wait until AFTER they've seen all the acts to vote??), and the show not being available in High-Def (not that it would have made much difference anyway) all, IMO, spelled disaster for this show a long time ago.

Good gracious canceled after just one episode, pretty sad.

I think the show was only supposed to be about 4 or 5 episodes, anyway. They probably should have given it at least one more shot- or just let the show run its course and not do it again. Sort of like Fox did with "The Next Great American Band" and that filming reality show. They did very poorly but at least the network let them run their course before getting rid of them for good. But then again, this is CBS we're talking about here.

I don't think anyone will be mourning the loss of this show, though.

Maybe Sasha had the longest time to get all her skating fans' votes.

Actually she likely had the worst opportunity to get votes since she went right at the beginning. Anyone who tuned in 10 minutes late already missed Sasha entirely. I know quite a few Sasha fans who even missed the chance to vote. I agree that the show was simply bad overall, and that it was a popularity contest. Before the show even aired, I predicted Clint Black and Mya to win on popularity. All of the judges picked them, as well. I'm surprised Sasha beat out Mya or any popular music person, and I'd like to know how close it was.

Sasha is a contortionist. It's basically natural. No work involved. Except learning a so so routine. But she didn't sell it! She could do better.

Yeah right, no work involved... she hurt her back/spine doing that routine. I'm glad the show is cancelled since maybe now she won't destroy her back completely. I disagree with those who said Sasha's performance wasn't impressive. What was impressive was the overall quality. ITA with the judge who said she was almost indistinguishable from the professionals.

Did you find Clint Black's stand-up comedy to be indistinguishable from a professional? Did you find it impressive? I certainly found it to be neither. Same with Takei's singing (UGH.) Mya was just all right. She seemed pretty amateurish in the beginning, then she soon had an army of tap dancers around her so that we couldn't really hear what steps she was actually hitting on-beat. Sasha had a small army of contortionists too, but she couldn't exactly hide behind them and just smile, flourish her arms and pretend she was brilliant. She took center stage and there really was no way the others could cover for any mistakes, like they could with Mya. I'd have picked Sasha and Mya to advance, but it's a moot point now.

....and that filming reality show.

Steven Spielberg can't get it right all the time, that'd be unfair to the rest of the people out there...

On the Lot just had a bad time slot.... I was never able to catch it
