Can anyone explain the controversy behind his music? Im not looking for a political discussion, I just want to know why he wasn’t allowed to use it before? Or was he? English translation can be so sloppy

Nobody knows what exactly happened. There were just some people who were against Rammstein. One person even wrote a letter to the Minirstry of Sports after which the Ministry of Sport recommended to not use this music. In the end they reached a compromise by choosing a cover version.
