Go Marin!! She is skating in a group of 6 where they all scored 140+ at regionals minus her. She will need to execute the 3Lo, 3S, 3T and 2A’s to her best ability to qualify for Nationals.

Can I ask why Yuna is not an exempted skater here despite being assigned to NHK Trophy?
Is it because it's the host spot given by JSF? Or is the exemption rule only in place if the GP assignment is during or very close to the sectional?

It's the latter. Also, Nationals and junior Nationals medalists are exempt.

That's right, it's the latter. NHK is still 2 weeks away. The exemption is given in case when the assignment happens 1 week before/after the qualifying competition.

Thank you both @surimi and @cohkaix! :thank:

As for Nationals and Junior Nationals medalists, they are called seeded skaters, correct?
And are seeded skaters exempted from both regionals and sectionals, despite whether they have international assignments close to it?

Yes, that's basically correct. In general the National medalists are seeded skaters, and they are automatically exempted from regionals/sectionals in the upcoming season.
[*One exception I could think of is when a Jr. turns Sr., this qualification doesn't apply.]
