Skate Canada 2024 Junior and Senior Sectionals

Thanks so much!! I got burned out from the skating marathon of last weekend. Will watch these competitions at night since I have a life to try to get back to. Thanks for your posts!! You are the best!!

So BC has Ted Barton doing interviews during this resurfacing. He's interviewed Mia Sugino/Olivia Marr, the first same-gender ice dance team that competed in Pre-Novice, I'll have to find their skate when the stream is archived. They'll be going on to Pre-Novice/Novice Challenge

Kara Yun - Fall on the 3Lz, I forgot that was the solo jump this year and was worried she'd missed the combo. But she got the 3F+3T. 49.1, the TES went down to ~25 from ~30 I think?

Gabrielle Jugnauth - I liked her, she was engaging the judges. I liked her sit spin too. 52.06, she's first at the end of the first group

Konstantina Lock - She's another I liked for her performance. She kept the performance up after the awkward hands down on the 2A. 44.19

Is Emily Sales related to Haley? She's skating to a lounge cover of Don't Speak. Good presentation, and she's from Kelowna FSC like the other junior women who I liked for the presentation. 46.59, go Kelowna FSC junior women.

Angelina YinLin Guan - Song For The Little Sparrow. That was a lovely skate, I like her dress. It reminds me of Young You's 2021-22 SP dress. 46.94

Calissa Adlem - another Kelowna FSC junior woman. Cute run and smile after the fall on the 3Lz with a wonky axis. Looked a little lost after the layback spin, got base level on that, but finished the program with a smile. 44.32

Gabrielle Jugnauth will finish in first for the short program, with Kara Yun in second and Angelina YinLin Guan in third.

Amy Shao Ning Yang - oh no, not the falls with no combo. 49.97, she does have her 4CC minimums from Cranberry Cup

Emma and Abby are cute sitting together, I like seeing the skaters together in the Kiss and Cry.

I've dropped in a bit at whatever happens to be on in Kelowna at the time. Links from the local clubs' Facebook pages. (Of course, I always do so when it's the tail end of a practice or warm-up session. Or a resurfacing. ) When is the China competition going to be showing on CBC Sports? Any time suitable for a night owl just across the Pacific from there, more or less?
