I just watched the Junior Boys and Senior Men.

Travis, Brian, and Parker were popping off.

Matthew popped two triples in the second half. But, he successfully landed two triple axels and scored 224.84. Looks like Matthew just earned himself another international event. He is our clear #5 Canadian Senior guy behind Stephen, Romsky, Aleksa and Grayson.

He is listed as an alternate for Warsaw Cup, he could go there instead of Wesley. I wouldn't have Grayson ahead of him just yet. Grayson did well at Riga, but he's still working on getting to that level consistently.

That would be awesome!! Matthew is much improved and I think he is aiming for one of the three 4CC spots.

Perfect!! Just in time to watch Lia after watching skate Canada Ladies free skate

Go Lia!! Do you best with the 3A!!

182.61!! Her third straight 180+ score.
She was shocked at her result. I think she must have had a 3Aq (fall). She seemed closer to rotating the triple axel, and that might have made a difference.

Lia reminds me of Ami. Even if she falls on the 3A, she has such mastery of her other triples, she always lands the rest of her jumps so well.

So Alberta's Junior Women going to Challenge for certain are Lia Cho, Kaydee Kallay, Uxia Gonzalez-Abraldes and Annika Behnke.

More could be chosen as additional entries if they have the QMS, I'm interested to see if Alberta will get more entries that way.

Wow!! That is higher than the score at Challenge last year to make it to Nationals. AB deserves more spots. ONT deserves less spots
I think that's where the 6 additional entries are coming from, Alberta and Quebec have some Junior Women that could contend at Challenge.

I don’t want the additional 6 spots. I want 4 less spots for ONT and 1 more for AB and 3 more QUE 😝

I’m just analyzing Lia’s protocol sheet.
In the SP, she got her first step 4 sequence, despite the fall (HaHa!!)

In the FP, her 3A was <<. She gets 1.65 and with the fall, minus one point, that jump is worth only 0.65 (sigh).

So, maybe, it is better if she does what the Slovak girl does and replace the 3A with the 2Lz instead. That would give her more points and she would surpass 70 TES with that jump layout.

Anyways, Lia has really improved on spins. I believe she got all level 4 spins. So, that is new and the reason her score was so close to 70. So, that was the difference. Next stop, is her 5th out of 7 events, Challenge.
