I'm sure it's hardest for these young skaters, for them this must be a really huge event - while objectively they have the future ahead and this is already a great achievement. But likely many of these ambitious young girls will have higher hopes.

I do see many are annoyed by the time violation. I would like to point at that Katya wasn´t the only one getting one in the SP, for instance Mia got one too, so for the judges to judge fair among all the skaters it would be wrong not to give Kurakova a time violation if the violation time was the same as for the other skaters who got it.

Yes, I am not blaiming judges. They should work and be accurate the program ends in time. I am not now listening to local commentator-judge Mika as his partner is annoyingly talkative, but he often says it is not good choreo to end programs by sliding because there is a chance it does not stop in time with the music. I don't remember what Katya did, though, to get it.

Hovine is a graceful skater, not exactly a desired skate after a very good beginning where she landed a triple lutz but she fought. A double axel turned into a single with a minus GOE though. Stayed with peanuts for this element. I liked the ... original dress.

I think Mia ended after, normally she ends her program just on the beat with a pose. I think she was not fully done with the spin at the last beat. So if you get just a little bit behind in the program it´s very easy to go a little behind. You can´t just cheat on the spin because then you loose levels, so then it´s maybe better to get a violation.
