2024 World Junior Championships Women's Free Skate

Her jumps don't have a lot of height, but I'm sure that will improve as she grows and adds muscle
If she's still with Panova, I doubt it. This is nothing against Panova, her coaching or her skaters, but she has a very particular style of skater she selects for and that body type is not generally the most conductive for big jumps (see also Kseniia Sinitsyna, who is a lovely, lovely skater, but does not have big jumps either).

...Sherry is so good! Her speed, her flow, her jumps, her performance ability, her movement quality, her spins... wow wow wow! I really hope she doesn't end up with all of the pressure that was put on Alysa Liu and Isabeau Levito and is instead given the time to mature and grow as a skater (hopefully the current depth of the US women will prevent her from becoming the "next big star who will save US skating". Such a shame about those two falls at the end, because everything else was so good!

I googled them. They liked being roommates in the womb, so naturally they had to dance together.

Awwww. What a lovely analogy!

Mind you, I've been watching a lot of Estonian competitions this season, because they haven't gone down the pay route. And there are two skaters with the same surname at one of the younger levels that are so alike that I reckon that they must be twins. But, I've never actually seen them together. Even when I looked at photographs on their club's Facebook page, they were always pictured separately.

So, maybe they are at the other extreme, and didn't like being roommates in the womb.

Or, maybe there aren't actually two of them. Maybe it is the same girl skating twice... 🤔

That sequence rule really makes 3-3 almost worthless. The value isn't in the points anymore, but in the way judges see you.
3-3 was already not that important, but now it's more glaring.

I think that’s why the ISU wants to go down to 6 jumping slots, to increase the need for a triple triple.

Oh no. Sherry looked like she was about to burst into tears when the scores were announced, and she was trying to hold them back.

She stopped holding back when she thought the camera had left. But then she realised the camera was actually still on her, and she tried holding them back again.

:ghug:

Going by what I have just described, I think it has already started.

I'm excited to see how Jana grows as a skater over the next few years. She really fought to get her lutz combo in, and while I'm sure it wasn't the skate she'd hoped for, she did very well for herself especially considering how young she is.
