It's her skating flow. Now that she's only with Mihoko (used to be with Yamada), I don't see it changing.I don't know why, i thought that Rena was from Hamada or from that Tokyo Coach (the one who coaches Rion and Wakaba).
She doesn't look like an Aichi skater.
Would you mind elaborating more on this? As a fan of Japanese skating especially Aichi skaters, I'm curious to know your opinionIt's her skating flow. Now that she's only with Mihoko (used to be with Yamada), I don't see it changing.

It's hard to explain but it's the way they flow on ice and how it integrates with their presentation. It's very "skating to the music" which is supported by good basics and open posture, which allows them to take their time and not rush any movement. Rena is pretty fast for her age, but you can see that she "rushes" or "speeds up" from one point to the other to catch the next move / element, even though I think Mihoko helped hide that with how Rena's programs are choreographed. We'll see whether Mihoko is going to address Rena's upper body posture or make programs that suit her strengths more. Aichi skaters look like they have all the time in the world- they don't look fast but they are and the cameras hide how easy they cover the ice, even with plenty two-footed skating. Basically I just think about Shoma and Rino at present. Mako too but she's slower. It's just something very noticeable with Yamada skaters. Even Mao, who left Yamada early, don't have that flow.Would you mind elaborating more on this? As a fan of Japanese skating especially Aichi skaters, I'm curious to know your opinion![]()
