2024 World Championships Men's Free Skate

I'm so distracted by Johnny Weir and his outfit that I barely watched Shaidarov.

My curiosity was piqued, as it was for others here, so I switched to NBC's live broadcast for a quick peek.

Just like I said, "classic and understated".

:laugh2:

He ditched his whole FS - he's now skating to "The Lion King."
Oh so he's the one who went back to his free, I saw it mentioned somewhere, but forgot who it was.

But gee....that costume really doesn't say Lion King, does it? I mean it's not tiger stripes at least :laugh2: but surely a brownish yellowish shirt would be better?

Hey Nika! His program cracks me up...

And yeah good work from Georgia this comp! I saw that Nastya G really rocketed up the ranks during the women's free, good for her!

Deniss, no QUADS!

I have a few questions : is Adam's backflip considered to be part of the choreo sequence ? and if yes, would it encourage judges to give him higher GOEs on that choreo sequence (like to somehow reward the risk, boldness, etc....) then without the backflip ?

No. But I don't know him. Maybe he was that guy they carried out???
it could be

we need to have a prize named after him in our award, like a special jury prize or something...

Well we just saw Ilia he seems to be Ok, not limping or anything like that. He looked nervous but that should be expected he know what at stake here. He wants wants that world championship just hope that his body allows him to do that
Why would he not be ok?
