If you were an elite figure skater, who would be your coach?

Coming from the coaching changes thread and Kimmy Repond's announcement about adding Michael Huth to her coaching team, I thought to myself that if I were an elite skater, I'd probably train in Oberstdorf with Michael Huth as well.
Second option would be Champery and Lambiel. Yes, I love the Alps.

If you were an elite figure skater and could train anywhere in the world without practical concerns for money, visas, etc..., who would be your coach?

well, looking back on my own (plentiful) shortcomings in my competitive career and seeing them from a matured mindset, i'd probably go to Raf. The transformation he (and John Nicks) did with Ashley was incredible.

My answer is kind of unfair b/c I've actually been there and done that in my lifetime, working with many coaches but if I had to choose one from each of my disciplines: Frank Carroll for singles, Liz Coates for ice dance.

ETA: If we are talking coaches who are still coaching: Raf for singles, Anjelika Krylova/Scott Moir for dance.

Irina Smirnova! I adore her spank and how respectful she is of her skaters' personality and how much soul her skaters show in their programs. If i was a guy, I would pick Victoria Butzaeva, because, come on, that's a fun group.

Yvan Desjardins if I were a singles skater. Meagan Duhamel if I were a pairs skater.
Carol Lane if I were an ice dancer.

But I would hire Patrick Chan for skating skills and my choreo would be Jeff Buttle.

Michael Huth is a good choice, for me it would either be Moskvina, she is smart and experienced or Lambiel he seems like he would be very patient

Alexei Mishin, except that he doesn't normally take female students (Elizaveta Tuktamysheva being the notable exception). I believe he is one of the best for teaching a jumping technique which is solid and mechanically sound whilst promoting longevity for the skater's career. It isn't just a conveyor belt of short-term, disposable, wonders with ruined bodies. Options in the UK are rather limited if you really want to train at an elite level and it's a long time since we had a singles skater reach the higher realms internationally. My ballet training would probably lend itself more to a Russian school/style of skating than a North American one. Michael Huth or Stephane Lambiel would probably be second choices. I don't think I'd be brave enough to do pairs - lifts in pas de deux work were scary enough, and they were done from the floor not whilst moving on ice. Ice dance doesn't really inspire me in the same way that singles and pairs skating does.

I'm with you two. My choices would be either Lambiel or Tracy Wilson! Modern dancer that I am, I'd beg for Rohene as my choreographer.
