2024 Riga Cup Women's Short Program

Milana: not sure how I feel about Hallelujah for a thirteen-year-old (what do you mean she was born in 2011 I cannot process this), but that was a strong first international skate! I'm impressed...lots of potential with this one.

(I guess it's a sign of aging that I now watch JGPs and think 'way too young for that music' like, every three skaters, heh...also LOOK AT HER IN THE KISS AND CRY SHE'S SO LITTLE :eek2:)

Mamma mia! My brain is finding it hard to process this coming from you.

It doesn't seem like that long ago since you were the youngest member of the forum. :drama: (It's hard to believe it is coming up on 10 years since you joined! Time really is flying!)

Now that I have the opportunity, it is so good to have you back with us. I for one missed you.

Hope all is well with you in real life.

A few of the top Korean juniors have jumps that terrify me, so I am very happy to add one who doesn't to my list (that only has Jia on it at the moment...).
Oh you haven't watched Jeongyul yet have you? Her jumps are the definition of solid, definitely nobody's scared by her jumps. And while I admit that the twins (and some others) don't have the prettiest of jumps they are working on it so...

Edit: Here's Jeongyul at JGP Selections https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nsYNEot6JJU&pp=ygUJ7Zmp7KCV7Jyo

Nope, Mark, I don't think anyone great in JGP will be age eligible for this Olympics...

I mean, I am happy he takes his own students. He seems like a solid coach. Always has this grouchy investment when they perform.
I've got nothing against Sergei D, he seems cool, I just thought maybe the Australian Figure Skating Association would be kind of...not into our representatives been coached in Russia. Like...I'm not sure you can even travel to Russia on an Aussie passport right now :scratch2:

Hey there's an Irish skater in this group :)

Anastasia's dress looks like Valieva's Olympic season SP dress. What is it with the girls training with the Russians and their dresses today? 😅

Oh gosh, we don't talk about that...you guys who've been around forever knew me when I was in middle school. A truly horrifying thought. Please kindly forget :slink:

That's very sweet of you, though, I'm glad to be back! It was actually a personal writing project that got me back into the hardcore watching routine, haha. With hindsight, it's been kind of fun to observe what's changed in how I watch and think about skating at 22 vs. at 13. I think it's also made me nicer. Heh. :ROFLMAO: I was so much more comfortable being critical then than I am now...

It's been very fun to see that the people I remember from Sochi-era GS are very much the same as they were when I was Forum Baby, including yourself. :)
