A very good start for this team. Their doubles look very comfortable, the lifts are solid, and overall they seem to be well-matched. They are so young, and I think they have a bright future ahead.

I just had to check where this partnership was representing. Because from the back, Noah's jumper looks very like the flag of Uzbekistan!

It wouldn't be a figure skating competition without some Andrea Boccelli.

Some serious synchronicity issues towards the end.

Ted says he fondly remembers Medvedeva skating to Pirates of the Caribbean--I believe he is mistaking her for Leonova, whose POTO program was LEGENDARY. I will not accept this Leonova erasure!!!

I love this team so much! Their artistry is second to none, and they skate so close and in hold so well. More of an early-season skate, just some little things that need cleaned up, but I love the program and their commitment to it.

The American pair has clearly been studying overacting and are working those facials like they're at an emo-themed beauty pageant, which is essentially what the JGP is so good for them.

I love Olivia's costume. I love Luke's costume.

But the two costumes do not go well together. At all. The colours really clash with each other.

The skating was good, though, and they go into 2nd. Just a sliver over a point behind the leaders.

Someone needs to ban skaters from searching the internet for methadone emo covers of popular music from the'90s. It's too much. And I believe the singer of the Cardigans was a figure skater as well. I certainly hope she isn't listening to this desecration.
