Liked the detailed grace in his arm and hand movements. Kept getting(pleasantly) distracted with the way the air currents sculpted his hair.

Judge 8th wasn't looking at the throw of the Chinese pair.... + 2 for a major fall is ... ok.

I love Olivia's costume. I love Luke's costume.

But the two costumes do not go well together. At all. The colours really clash with each other.

The skating was good, though, and they go into 2nd. Just a sliver over a point behind the leaders.

I don't get the scoring though, comparing the two top teams. I could understand if Desrochers/ Thrasher skated cleanly. They did not. I think D/T had a slightly better twist than Flores/Wang and D/T present as a bit more mature overall, but that's it. Jazmine reached a hand down on the sbs jump, and her throw landing was bobbled. Liv had a cleaner landing on her throw, and F/W's sbs jumps were better executed. Plus, no pointed toes by D/T in their spin, contrasted with beautifully pointed toes by F/W. While F/W were slightly out-of-sync during their sbs spin, their positions were better. Plus, F/W to me emote better and believably, out of all these young teams. I do not see F/W's expressiveness as overdone in any way. Ted and Mark complimented Liv & Luke for their emotive qualities, and deservedly so.

The judges got this scoring wrong at the top. As usual, smacks of politics. If they want to give D/T more for their stunning good looks and mature appearance on the ice, that should be in PCS, not TES. D/T's overall higher TES is undeserved. Hey, pairs afficionados, am I missing something?

Another thing, could commentators please stop making excuses for Jazmine's mistakes, coupled with marveling that she has come this far from 'Can Skate' status. That spiel is a broken record by this point. Nice addition by Mark mentioning Liv/Luke's 'Liv Laugh Luke' t-shirts (posted on social media). But Mark got it wrong. Those t-shirts were lovingly made by their fans and given to them as a surprise with other gifts, earlier this summer. I am sure that Liv & Luke posted the photo wearing their t-shirts as a shout-out to their fans and supporters!

Flores/Wang lost levels on their death spiral and lost points on their twist. That's where they lost on TES to Desrochers/Thrasher. Putting it down to politics does a disservice to all the teams and the tech panel in my opinion.

I get that Flores/Wang are popular, but it's so close for the top three that it doesn't matter who is in first. No one has a massive lead over the others and it'll come down to the free. The top three will have to be on their game to win.

I do agree about the narrative about Jazmine's experience since it's a false one. She has been competing since 2016, it does a disservice to the work that she's put in.

The pair SP is always almost always about the quality of the triple twist as well as levels. When skaters are relatively clean and with all the same set elements, that makes the difference. I wouldn't cry wolf on these judges and I wouldn't even believe one second that politics have a role to play when a Canadian team edges an American one, a team with a JWC medal on top of that... Seriously ?
