2024 JGP Bangkok Women's SP

Oh dear... the school kids filling the seats and holding up synchronised pink things look anything BUT thrilled to be there, personally at that age I'd take anything to get me out of algebra....

(ps - now synchronised green gloves)
Maybe it's because I've always been a nerd but I'd have chosen class over going to see a sport I'm not into and having to do synchronized cheering choreo with the other students... :slink:

Are we sure that her coach is called Douglas 'Haw'? Since her choreographer seems to be her mother (Barbara Hawkes) I think it's more likely that she is coached by her father, aka Douglas 'Hawkes'

You remind me that I at that age would have had trouble with synchronised anything harder than.... well anything.

By the way, Ella's coach Douglas Haw is a Canadian skater who now coaches in Ann Arbor.

Funnily enough, he used to coach Regina GARCIA de LEON SAAB (MEX), who Ella has just slotted in behind!

Ella goes into 9th position, just 0.70 points behind Regina.

Doug and Ella are both delighted.

The popped Lutz could've just been a fluke however, it's not unusual for skaters who switch to TCC to temporarily experience jump inconsistency since their team focuses so heavily on skating skills, often starting skaters from scratch
This was definitely true of Yuzuru, people at the time said it was a mistake going there... Jia may just need a little time to soar.

When I was 9 or 10 (can't remember exactly) school forced all the students in my grade (3rd or 4th, elementary) to do a synchronized cheerleading-ish dance with pom-poms, I could not and still cannot dance and I was in so much pain whenever it was P.E. and we had to practice the dance moves... ah elementary school I do not miss you

Gorgeous dress and while I'm not sold on the cover of Hallelujah, I have heard worse...

Does anybody know who that was in the yellow cardigan sitting with Renee TSAI (NZL) and her coach TSAO Chih-I (TPE).

Renee's other coach, WANG Chang Yuan (CHN), is male; and she didn't look like her choreographer, KIM Haejin (KOR).

Talk about an international team of skaters behind her!

(Renee is originally from Taiwan. Her Chinese name is TSAI Kai-Shin).

She goes into 6th position.
