Inga face almost got sliced

Erm, that was one of my little witches that I threatened to set on you earlier that was the other half of that incident... :slink:

Hopefully it was just the camera angle, and they weren't actually that close.

It didn't seem to ruffle Inga come the programme, anyway.

She goes into 3rd position.

The Japanese side of the internet seems to indicate that her first name is also written in kanji rather than katakana, so I don't think there's any connection to the name Lilia?

Interesting about the alternate reading! I have absolutely given up on memorizing how kanji are read when they're used in names because  almost no rhyme or reason at all, only General Patterns that don't always hold...
Oh her given name is written with kanji, that I know, but well in Korea there are cases of names of western origin being given Chinese characters (=kanji) that correspond to the sounds, so I hadn't ruled the possibility out just because her parents named her with kanji. And oh I'm absolutely terrible with yomikata, I just speak mediocre Japanese and can read maybe 1 out of 10 surnames

(speaking mediocre Japanese gang unite)

Skating really helps with surnames because I know what the names are going in, so if I see one kanji that I know, I can probably think of a skater whose name contains that sound and figure it out - "oh, this is the kanji for no, so that must be ko," etc etc, but it takes a lot of backpedaling.

Then again, I have had many Japanese friends tell me that they occasionally have no idea what someone's name is until they ask for this reason ...
