he was born in Vietnam. btw we have a flourishing philippino and a big chinese community in Italy (philippinos were the first to immigrate in Italy in the 80s and they're totally integrated. Chinese started moving here in the 90s)

Vietnamese heritage! Now I know that he does look more SE Asian than East Asian

I'm not a fan of cartwheels within the program, but that showed spirit and was good to see after a disappointing skate. Good girl!

Beautiful performance throughout. But why does just everything about her cry "Asian!" when she is actually from Finland?

There is Asian minority in Finland, she could be mixed and there are Sami people, who have quite asian features

Mark said that she has chinese grandparents, so i guess her mother is chinese. but does it matter?

I guess her choreographer and her dressmaker must have chinese connections too because the entire performance looked like coming from the far east instead of Finland?!

Well, it seems that Zhasmin and her team have realised that re-working her old FS into an SP didn't work, because she's got a new programme this time. It may not be my taste of music, but it seems to work.

She just needs time to really get used to it.
