Tomoki's switch to Mie Hamada's camp was a great decision for him, especially since they've reined in his number of quads to just one in the short and given him good programs - Tomoki was having so much fun in that step sequence. I am a little disappointed to see the removal of some of his classic transitional content, but this is also the cleanest I've maybe ever seen him skate, so I understand why.

Hiwatashi kicks off with a clean skate that included a spin at the end. But I will proceed with caution. A clean SP has meant a disastrous FS for Hiwatashi for awhile.

His short seems to be a cross between Nathan Chen and Shoma Uno, both at their most extreme, but it suits him, and so did the program.

Oh, Tatsuya looks on here. If a lot of the guys are messy, he's absolutely a podium dark horse, because he does tech content he can realistically do and has good spins. He does a great job with the choreography, which was so complex in that step sequence, and is so well-rounded (like many of the Japanese skaters).

My English relatives loved that series, and even though I left as a child the theme stuck in my brain... and then I ran across some of the very first episodes on youtube. Budget was tiny and showed it, but those scripts were cracking good.

I'm not surprised. It is a catchy tune.

But, I wish it was still like you described. There used to be a lot of comedy in it. But not any more. It's all drama and action. The cast is far too big now, and you don't really get to know the characters the same way you used to, because you can go weeks or months without seeing them. It used to be that you could relate to the characters and the storylines. But, you can't now.

I have got to the stage that I don't enjoy it any more. But I still watch it.
