The skating lover in me knows that performance was sloppy and the in betweens largely non-existent but what an athletic feat!!! To even attempt that tech is crazy! Who even does that??

Ow I completely agree, the boy flies like a rocket. But it is just so annoying when they keep giving him 10s and 9s in PCS...

Well at least the judges made a PCS distinction of 4 points between Ilia and Yuma. Better than nothing. Congrats to Ilia on his win and to Yuma on winning the free.

Ilia's jumps are great and I think his PCS is getting better, but I'd like to see a bit from him components wise. Technical wise though, his skills are just incredible.

Ilia always had great jumps, but I feel like he's developing his own style too. But that backflip thing always makes me worried he'll fall on his head!

Yeah, it looks actually scary unlike the backflips of Adam Siao Him Fa or ... Surya Bonaly long time ago. I guess it's that variation on it that we barely saw on the ice.

Incredible jumps and mind boggling technicals from Ilia, but the performance quality he showed in the short yesterday was absent today. I don't think he deserved anywhere near 86 in PCS.

122 TES with a fall, ilia is absurdly good. He will lose some for UR, but still, his jumping is otherworldly.

The tech panel was very strict here which I like, Ilia lost a ton of points due to UR calls. Though I can't help but wonder if they would have been as strict with Ilia if he was in danger of losing the gold.

True. Yuma handed this win to Ilia on a platter. Too many costly mistakes - falling on the 4Salchow in the SP and doubling the 4Salchow in the FS.
