2024-25 Senior Grand Prix Final Women's Free Skate

I've just finished watching watching the replay of the FS of the competition unspoilered as I was too busy to watch it live. Bless ISU YT stream! Hana had a strong start of the Free Skate but some smaller errors started creeping in the 2nd half of the program so she was unable to cling herself to maintain the lead over the other two Japanese skaters who skated before. Her PCS was marked well, but Kaori deservedly got higher marks from the judges.
Big congrats to Mone Chiba for the biggest success of her career and obviously to Amber Glenn who won the GPF, her landings bar one all looked cleaned today and that 3A was very good today. I love both her programs and it made me smile to see her screaming like she did in the KnC.
I'm overjoyed at Kaori being like this and redeeming herself after an underwhelming SP to eventually get herself on the podium.
Big congrats to Mone Chiba for the biggest success of her career and obviously to Amber Glenn who won the GPF, her landings bar one all looked cleaned today and that 3A was very good today. I love both her programs and it made me smile to see her screaming like she did in the KnC.
I'm overjoyed at Kaori being like this and redeeming herself after an underwhelming SP to eventually get herself on the podium.

Thank you, much appreciated. Tried my best to make skaters pick up my thrown crowns and I was glad Amber picked hers that in my humble opinion looked so good on her. I'm beyond grateful for starters that she wore it in KnC at all, didn't expect it! Evan's mom reaching out from the opposite row was such nice touch (and she was sad for me that today was no go to KnC

This has been an incredible season for Amber. I didn't really get the hype for her last year because I didn't see any consistency or terrific skates when it mattered, but she just needed one good win to fuel her to the next and the next and the next. Fake it til you make it.
Now she skates with the confidence of someone who has been in this position and knows that one mistake does not make or break a program. That's what it takes to develop champion mentality. She's not my favorite skater in terms of style, but one of my favorite characteristics in skaters are their mental strength and fight, and Amber has really developed that this season. Good for her!

I would like to see programs skated to music with a little more fire.
But I totally get why they've chosen this almost hypnotic piece for her, because she did seem calm. I don't see the deep emotion in the music/program that some do, but I can't argue with the result.

Okay.Did my job and have some points at it:Check the famous versions sung by men, read the lyrics, and get rid of the Carribbean flair. It is not well sung if you want my opinion
1.Dimash sing the perfect version for this song.That we both agree.Guy voice is from heaven.Thank you for showing it to me.
2.Problem is I can't see Hana interpre it this way with him in the background.Maybe if that was Yuzuru on the ice i could belive,but not for Hana.
3.I don't know what Hana said about this program,but based on the dress she took the different approach and goes a bit above when it come to go up from ground.She us galaxy dress showing she means took it even above the sky( atleast that what i think and this is more what suits her)Also the version of this song she is using has those perfect background noices and rythm with the voices being lose behind this for the galaxy version she is trying to show.
4.Conclusion is i fully agree that the men singing is the perfect version,but i can stand with this version for this program and the skater that is using it.

The next step in this Glennaissance looking toward next season should be for Amber to add a 2nd 3Axel to her FS in combination with 2toe. She could then leave out that 2nd 3flip in the latter part of the program that can sometimes give her issues.

I looove the version of SOS D'un Terrien en Détresse used by Hana. The modern beats and instrumentals make it feel galactic and ethereal. I've had it on my Spotify on repeat for the last 2 months. I don't like the original versions or with the male falsettos.

Did you miss Wakaba? She probably had the highest quality skate of the day, she just didn't have a 3A. Yeah, Wakaba was very good too! She & Kaori are my favourite Japanese competitive female skaters currently.

Me. too. As for Wakaba, there has always been a unique and characteristic quality to her skating that draws me in and holds my attention throughout.
I agree with that about Wakaba. I feel like she is skating to please herself and the fans instead of the judges.

I would like that too. I wonder if she could do it without letting the program get away from her. Maybe next season?
