Did anyone see the press conference after the short program? Alisa and Misha basically said Alisa is applying for US citizenship so that they can go to Milano 2026. But she's only been in the country since late spring 2023 so I don't see how that's possible.

They need to really compete well in upcoming competitions and stay in touch with their Congressional Rep. It hasn't happened often, and I assume it's not easy, but I can recall a few instances of accelerated citizenship for "exceptional" applicants.

So Nica and Mark and Ellie and Timmy are both Team C funding, Ellie and Danny are Team A Tier 2, as are Alisa and Misha. Katie and Danil are Team B Tier 1, so are Spencer and Emily, Alisa and Misha are Team A Tier 2. This could change a little bit from 4CC's and Worlds, but they won't get any lower than they are now.
Also the mystery of if there is a podium step for pewter is solved, there is one.

Why couldn’t Peacock get a commentator who is not sick/whose voice is normal? It was distracting. If this sport wants more fans, they have to think of the audience.

i am doing ok for now.. but the boys are going to screw me over really hard tomorrow... just like the women did at Canadian nationals... where I had two perfect scores (in pairs and dance) and a silver in men but still failed to medal overall LOL

I actually got an overall gold for Canadian Nationals. I really have no idea how. My choices were extremely random and not thought out. I obviously thought too much before US Nationals.

I'm not an expert in immigration law, but if I am recalling correctly - and I'm not sure that I am - it requires a special act of Congress - so, no, the state of residency would not matter.

Interesting, I didn't know that. Makes sense to go for Canada. US citizenship is like an eight year process. Vadym and Christina are just now hoping to get theirs after five years of green card.

It could change with new government...

No she's not. She's Finnish and Russian.
She can represent the US at Worlds but to go to the Olympics you have to be a citizen of the country you represent.

Highly unlikely. But, I hope they do well at Worlds this year for themselves and for the Olympic hopes of the teams that finished in 2 and 4th.

This is by far Katie's best finish at a nationals ever. Bet she is so happy she switched to pairs

They were, but she got caught up in all the red tape that happened after 9/11, so that's part of the reason why they had to pull strings for Tanith.

Quick google search: Tanith Belbin was granted expedited citizenship during the Bush Administration.

It happened for Tanith, but in today's political climate I just don't see it happening
