I got 25. If the men do their usual damage I might be on page two...so much for tracking all the skaters all year, watching endless videos, crunching numbers, considering the possibilities of implosion - it's only a game for me, it's a career for them...

Yes, additionally Tanith had a very strong chance of medaling. If E/M manage to get a medal at Worlds thus showing they could get an Olympic medal, which seems very very unlikely, they might have a shot. But, that's just not something I see as having a strong likelihood of happening.

It's "exceptional talent." Yes, if you are a figure skater who is going to (Tanith Belbin) win world and Olympic medals for the US, that is "exceptional talent."

Idk, Alisa and Misha are winners and Trump would like that, haha.
But Tan's case waas different. Tanith had already been living in the US for I think seven years at that point, and she and Ben had already won a WJC and a World silver medal. Alisa and Misha aren't getting on the podium for 2025 Worlds or 2026 Olympics unless four or five other pairs wipe out.
I love them, I'm just really curious to know what path she's attempting.

That's why I ask "recently". Tanith was 20 years ago under different circumstances, when the US had no reputation in ice dance. And she and Ben had already won a World silver medal.

Something to think about when the assignments come for alternates, Shin/Nagy are fractions of a point off their World minimums.

I don't know. It could go either way.
I'm a fan of the team, but I'm not sure that even I would be in favor of such an outcome. My supposition that expedited citizenship is not impossible is just a statement of fact, not an endorsement.
I'm sort of neutral about this aspect, I wouldn't put up much of a fuss either way.

I think they could still get them at Challenge Cup.
They were playing backstreet boys in the arena and they showed a clip of him singing to the tune…. And playing it up for the cameras
, before intermission. This was on NBC coverage. Instead, he should have been focusing on the upcoming performance. Perhaps, he should have used that time, to practice the lifts 
Danny just seemed overconfident and unfocused. When, I saw that, I commented to my friend that they weren’t going to have a good skate, and he will probably screw up on a lift, and then, that actually happened at the end of their free skate, and my friend mentioned I was right.

well that's the kicker.
Efimova and Mitrofanov would need a podium at worlds this year to get her citizenship expedited. Nothing less.
If they do so, granted it's in Boston, they may get more publicity from it and it may work in their favour.
Wow I got to see the whole event quite a show down!! Thanks to the person who left a link. Ellie and Danny who I feel have been held up too much (Ellie really not able to do the throws) very deserving win to efimova and partner I hope they get to represent USA. I thought nica and partner deserved higher.
Tanith was way more accomplished and had been living in the US for almost 8 years. The way things were going she was going to miss out on yet another Olympics because of the law being changed if she had tried for her green card two years later the process would have gone faster. Luckily Senator Carl Levin stepped in and a amendment was passed that allowed her to be sworn in as a US citizen on Dec 31 2005 instead of waiting until 2007.

i love efimova and mitrofanov but she's been struggling her entire career with jumps. Was this the start of a great successes landing them in the future or was this an exceptional performance ?
We will have to see. When it comes to the team event, we will have to see who are the team competing and who are the skaters opting to participate... it's possible that a team like RR may decide to focus on their pairs event only... or that some of the Japanese single stars decide the same too... It has happened in the past. I find it way too soon to even think about it..
