2025 World Junior Championships Men's SP

Interesting, usually the individual videos for the earliest groups are broken out at this point, or in a playlist - but not today. I will need sleep soon and may not be able to post links to them (assuming they will appear) until later.

He can jump but I actually think he still needs a bit more time in Juniors, he needs to build his mindset and mental fortitude.... remember his meltdown during the JGPF, after saying he wanted to win everything 😬

As his birthday is in September, he's not senior eligible yet next season. I'm honestly kinda glad he has to spend more time in juniors and not just rush into seniors 😅
You do have a point, I was just thinking layout-wise only. Ever since I first saw him during a JGP and watched him jump a huge-a(bleep) 3A then a 3T3T I was like "Lad you need to either work on a 3Lz3T/3F3T or move up to seniors" and I'm still of that mindset, shows that I'm not a stan I guess? 🧐

That's fair! Yeah jump-wise he is ready for seniors, which is why he managed to grab silver in senior Japanese nationals against a very deep, experienced field.
He did say in an interview that he's training the 3Lz3T, so we might see it next season (and he did 3F3T last season).

Anyway, it's almost 2 AM here and got work tomorrow so unfortunately I have to sleep during dance :bed:

Still sad that Matias missed the free skate by 1 position :( I hope he's not too hard on himself.

Okay I'll just write this and go to bed: among my lads Minkyu has an edge issue with his lutz and Jaekeun with his flip. Minkyu got nothing on his lutz, Jaekeun got an e (as I suspected). I mean... some TPs are lenient with lutzes and harsh with flips (every single Korean TP in domestic competitions fall into this category btw), some are the other way around, but like... if Jaekeun's flip was as kindly looked upon as Minkyu's lutz he would've gotten at least 2 more points and I am very bitter about that, why do judges hammer on him so much both in and out of Korea

that was amazing! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:now it's time to give Yuzu his shirt back
Well, Yuzuru did have several versions, wore one recently too :) This is way too close to not be an homage (it's also very flattering ) I also read somewhere that Patrick choreographed?

Who am I to judge, but this lad is wearing a sparkly red woman’s corset

With yet another music choice that ages the skater
He seems to like that style of top, his 2024 one was not that dissimilar, also red but with some white.
A shame he fell on that beautiful 3A. Do you know the flight time from Auckland to Debrecen? What a killer.
I don't know if he had a stopover? I know I have done the nonstop from Sydney to Paris and needed to crash for at least half a day because between exhaustion and the time change I was pretty wiped out. After that, always a stopover and even then it was rough. Yanhao would be a lot fitter and tougher than me but still...

I hope he can have a great redemption free, he is so good and enjoyable, one of my favourite junior men (mind you, I have a lot of favourite juniors). I see Habin is still in 6th place, very happy about that!

Really enjoyed the last group, especially Jacob and Rio. Love Rio's speed and flow across the ice. He definitely reminded me of his idol, whom I'm sure would have been proud of his skate today.

I am not even a fan of most men but the top 10 put on a great show......some one got the memo about artistry being important.....loads of it tonight.

Rio Nakata is the most talented young skater I've seen. He's faster going out of his jumps than in. I've seen him with a little more pizazz during the steps, but he's already a full performer. My way too early prediction for him is that he'll dominate when he gets to seniors.

ISU has taken down the Jr. Men's SP for copyright issue. l checked the ISU youtube channel hoping to find individual short programs for the last group of skaters but couldn't find any of them :bang:.
This is disgusting for many reasons. One, the ISU should tell the music owner that sorry, we made a mistake and we will take down or mute the offending music and or the whole performance right away. But no. Youtube is forced to remove the whole shootin' match. Its now up to the ISU to go back and remove the offending skater...if they will. Two, its the skaters who should get paid for giving music exposure. Sarah Brightman made TV specials with US Public Television Just like Celtic Woman did and it floated all the boats....
