2025 World Championships Women's Short Program

I really am shocked to see Alysa still in 1st considering there is no American judge on this panel and there is a Japanese judge, yet neither a clean Wakaba nor a clean Mone placed ahead of Alysa.

Totally agree. Light and joyful. But the choreography was complex, they stating skills were amazing, and the step sequence in particular is outstanding. Probably the best in the world. Incredible edges and body control. She skates with a ton of speed, and very little effort with basic Crossovers and progressives- she just Glides so incredibly well.

This is a crime that Alyssa is ahead of her though. Skating skills are not even close. Alyssa should have been about 70, and I would have had Chiba at probably high-73s, Maybe
I love Alyssa Liu's skating, she's acquired so much ease and how to say? Muscle responsiveness? during her gap, but indeed there's the technical base and hers is very good, not super-excellent like Mone Chiba's.

To be honest, I could see Katya retiring after the Olympics, if she makes it there. She still loves skating, clearly, but her scores have been falling for a few years now and Noelle Streuli will turn Sr-eligible season and will give her some fierce competition for the championship spots (when she's healthy again).
I looked wrong I think she still has the mins, but yeah - she might retire after Olympics. Post Olympic Worlds is probably going to be a bit different then this year. It will be a good chance for the young and upcoming skaters to have a good Worlds. Next year Mia is going to qualify a long with some other non qualifiers this year

Not gonna lie,I will stop watching skating again if Cheayeon miss anything in short or free. When i was away she was flawless so that would mean i am the problem 🥲

I'm almost sure Katia will retire in 2026. I just hope she manages to keep 2 spots for Poland for Euros.
