Kaori was 4th after the Short last season, over 3.5 points back from first and won at the end. Not saying this will happen again this season, Kaori is not the same skater and neither is anyone else competing here, but it's just to say that ice is slippery and movement can and will happen.Or Wakaba’s
This was her championship to win. I’m surprised she made a mistake. I don’t particularly like her skating (just indifferent), but I saw her as the favourite coming in.Chaeyeon is so stable usually, I am always surprised when she makes a mistake on a jump. Shame it had to happen today after her great season..
And she was placed all the way down at 11th, pretty shocking.
Watching the women make me depressed. There are so many with phenomenal skating skills that should be strongly in top 10.
Sorry but Schizas is NOT a top 6 skater, not even top 12.
I still think Kaori is going to win.Not too bad. If Kaori pulls herself together she will win with a clean skate.
Pairs starts at 6:45 EST, so about 2 hours. Is it 2 hours to pairs, or 1 hour? My maths says 2, but that seems a long gap.
They had nowhere near the pressure she had and neither attempted the 3Axel. It’s easier to go clean with a conservative program. Why am i not surprised that Alysa and Isabeau finished ahead of Amber? The mental game is a big part of being a champion.
It's a good point. It's a figure skating championship it should be on a regulation sized rink, not a regulation NA hockey rink. Probably the heating in the arena is too high as well for spectator comfort so they can take off their coats. It's not good enough for the premier event.Cursed ice. I think the ice is just a tad too soft for skaters like Chaeyon who rely on a very good toe-pick to get height on their jumps. It's also a NIH-sized rink, so lots of skaters have to skate smaller than usual. Kaori also wasn't super comfortable with the smaller rink last year in Canada (she placed 4th in the Short then).
excellent example - it just goes to show their is a learning curve to winning. some will not learn, others have it, others learn - hopefully in time.Do you remember this?
Worlds 2017 ladies result
A year before the Olympics. I think there were many surprises.
She was making it on practice, which sadly not everyone got to watch so I wasn't surprisedI’m surprised she made a mistake.
