2025 World Championships Pairs Short Program

I have a question for those sitting more in the technical requirements ... have the necessary features for death spirals changed lately? I noticed that a lot of death spirals that look pretty impressive get only lvl 1 or even B (the Japanese team received only basic level) now.

Much better than most of the season, well done. Vouillamoz/Bouvart might not qualify, there aren't many teams left who are likely to drop below 56/57. though certainly some who do sometimes like to make things difficult for themselves with unexpected errors.

I don't think they've changed, back outside death spirals are just notoriously difficult, so many teams struggle with getting levels. Whenever they are required, there's usually also a number more invalid death spirals, particularly at the junior level.

An (almost) perfect skate full of energy from Alisa and Misha! This short is so dynamic and exciting - it works so well with this team's strengths. All of their elements are excellent, with the exception of the SBS jumps - Alisa has been working so hard on them but competition causes some issues to flare up. I love seeing Misha alert go and perform more - he's normally very stoic so I enjoy seeing him get into character and have fun with this program. There were a few level issues, and of course the SBS jumps, but they were so engaged with the program that you forgot all about those tiny mistakes.

a beautiful tribute in the k&c 🤍

It is more difficult for the lady to stay low enough in the BO one. There tend to be more rotations which don't count on the BO death spiral.
