If they do what they're capable of, Chan/Howe are the best shot at it.So who do yall think USFS will send to the qualifying event to try to qualify the 3rd spot?
But when, truly, was the last time they did that?If they do what they're capable of, Chan/Howe are the best shot at it.
Their ceiling is still higher than everyone else. But when, truly, was the last time they did that?
Being a closer fit than street shoes, a skate boot holds the foot immobile as well as a cast would. If you've got a high pain threshold and you can stand putting weight on it, you're fine, for a short while at least. The voice of experienceOh no! This is terrible. I’m so worrried about him. Not to mention they were going to do the Ice Dreams Tour and I’m sure that won’t happen now.
Added: he was skating with a broken foot?!?!
Yeah, but if you look at their scores at Road to 26, that's what would give you pause. Their short was 57.07, and the free was 108.69.Well, McBeath/Parkman were second at Nationals, and second at the 'Road to 26 Trophy. Not too bad.
My bad, I usually just look at placements.Yeah, but if you look at their scores at Road to 26, that's what would give you pause. Their short was 57.07, and the free was 108.69.
I look at placements first, too, and then dive into scores when I really want to know what happened if I want spoilers before watching things that clash with my time zone.My bad, I usually just look at placements.
That sounds awful. My poor Danny.Being a closer fit than street shoes, a skate boot holds the foot immobile as well as a cast would. If you've got a high pain threshold and you can stand putting weight on it, you're fine, for a short while at least. The voice of experience
Will he be able to skate next season?Danny has a fractured metatarsal in his right foot and is going to need surgery.
Right now, we have no reason to think he wouldn't. I would imagine that they might be a bit behind their normal prep schedule for next season. Will he be able to skate next season?
Thanks so much.Right now, we have no reason to think he wouldn't. I would imagine that they might be a bit behind their normal prep schedule for next season.
I have a family friend who is a physical therapist, and next time I chat with her, I'm going to try to remember to ask her about recovery times for an injury like this in general.
Just talked to my friend, she just happened to call out of the blue. Thanks so much.

I don’t understand. What else is left besides the injury?Just talked to my friend, she just happened to call out of the blue.
She said that depending on the severity of the injury since there is surgery involved, it could be a recovery time in the range of 8-12 weeks just for the injury itself.
That healing time doesn't factor in when they'd actually let him on the ice again.I don’t understand. What else is left besides the injury?
So that’s 3 months. I hope they are getting him into surgery now. Like this week.
Somebody else noticed this, but I think we have a definitive answer now that Ryan Bedard has an Ice Partner search post: https://icepartnersearch.com/showbio.php?i=3704Yes, I have seen this news mentioned on a skating forum, but I haven't seen anything official. That's why I came here to ask if anyone else knows anything definitive.
I hope soon. That healing time doesn't factor in when they'd actually let him on the ice again.
