3 group photos from rehearsals from Yuma's ig account:

Kassouya ads all over Kamiya-chō-higashi station in Hiroshima:

Gendai media published another interview including comments by Dai and Yuma Suzuki and a few photos from the ongoing rehearsals:

Here is a partial machine translation of the parts referring to Yuma and her approach to creating the choreographies for the show (the rest of the article deals with topics already touched upon in previous interviews):

Yuma: "At first, we didn't know what position we were aiming for in the world of ice shows with what we were creating when Daisuke asked me to do it, and we didn't have much time to rehearse, so we were running like crazy. However, after the performance, we went to various shows together and realized that we had created something very unique/specific. I have had a different career path from skating, and it is a great pleasure for me to have been able to create a rare place called ‘Kassouya’ with Daisuke.
Of the various dances I have done, I feel that contemporary dance in particular has a high affinity with skating. Also, the dark worldview that Daisuke-san seeks has something in common with the worldview I have been creating in my plays. Skating does not have a front on the stage, but I have also performed in, for example, a wrestling ring, where we could be seen from all sides by the audience. I have also worked as an assistant to my teacher, Mayumi Natsu, and taught Morning Musume [a J-pop girlgroup]. I think my experience of teaching dance to Morning Musume as an assistant to Mayumi Natsu, has helped me in choreographing formations and teaching young skaters who are trying to dance seriously for the first time in Kassouya."
Yuma Suzuki is a choreographer/dancer from the Shiki Theatre Company (previously) and Ongakuza, and the head of Tokyo Panorama Theatre, which provides entertainment through dance and theatre.
[...]
Yuma Suzuki, who started skating after the last Kassouya performances, has improved considerably, and at this year's joint practice she was on the ice with the group, moving and giving instructions. Takahashi is also surprised at her progress.
Daisuke: "She started practising skating in secret, and was getting really good when we found out about it. Last year, she used to give us instructions from the rink side with a microphone from the platform, but this year she is on the ice with us, so it's easier to consult with her and communication has become so much easier. Last year, when we put the choreography on the ice, it was difficult for both of us to understand why it couldn't be done on skates, so it's great that she understands skating techniques now. But there is a part of me that doesn't want her to come to our side too much (laughs). It's fresh and interesting to have a floor dancer choreograph the show..."
Yuma Suzuki, who may have given many insights to the skaters, also received various stimuli from them. Yuma says.
Yuma: "I was shy at first, so I started learning to skate secretly, but now I'm really into it (laughs). I only had a good eye for skating through practice at Kassouya, so when I actually tried it, I realised how difficult it was and I gained a newfound respect for skaters. On the contrary, it was because I didn't know about it before that I was able to say difficult things to everyone and be reckless.
I originally started skating because I wanted to understand skating, or rather, because my choreography had movements that couldn't be done on skates, and I wanted to know what it felt like to skate. And I wanted to know what kind of scenery and sensations skaters were feeling, and I wanted to know their view of the world and their sense of speed, even if it was just a part of it. When I actually did it, I realised that this is what Daisuke was talking about. With that realisation, I think I will be able to improve the choreography and add more ideas about what we can do now that I've done it myself, for the return performance in Hiroshima."
Takahashi-san once said, "For the ensemble skaters, it's a very valuable experience to be taught Yuma-san's narrative expression." In fact, how did Yuma-san treat the skaters in Kassouya and with what awareness did she teach them the choreography?
Yuma: "When I go out in front of people to play a role in a play, I have a clear idea of who I am, why I'm here and what I'm trying to say. I live the life of the role. I think this is the same for skaters when they perform a few minutes of their own program. So I thought it might be something that could be passed on to them, so I threw them a narrative expression. Inwardly I was nervous about how they would take it.

Then they started to get into the role more than I expected. That was very impressive. Of course, they were a bit confused at first, but by giving them specific hints, they changed. Oh, does she have this kind of expression? Was he this cool? I was so impressed that even Daisuke rediscovered himself, as did I. Originally, even in my own theatre company's performances, I would come up with choreography that minimised the dancers‘ and actors’ lines and used physical expression to communicate to the viewers. I found out when I did it myself that skating is more sensual than dance, as if you can get into the unconscious just by the movement of skating quickly. So I think that skaters' physical expression can be conveyed in a much richer way."

On February 28 several Kassouya cast members (Kosho Oshima, Shunya Matsuoka, Koshiro Shimada, Yuto Kishina, Kazuki Tomono, Kana Muramoto, Daisuke Takahashi, Kanako Murakami, Moa Iwano and Maria Egawa) held a skating lesson for children at the Iyotetsu Sports Centre in Matsuyama, Ehime Prefecture - the rink that used to be Koshiro Shimada's training base when he started skating as a boy. The lesson was a pr event with the aim of preventing the imminent closure of the rink in 2027:

Gorgeous teaching team.
Moreover, all family members and chaperones are allowed to take videos and photos.
It's going to be a great memory!

Former world figure skating champions Daisuke Takahashi and Kanako Murakami taught a skating class for children at the Iyotetsu Sports Centre in Matsuyama on 28 February. Ehime Prefecture's only rink will close in 2027 due to ageing and other reasons. Mr Takahashi said: ‘I realised that there are many people interested in skating here. We must carry out promotional activities to prevent the rink from shutting down’.
He has contributed to the survival of a rink in Osaka Prefecture and also said, ‘We have two years, so something might change’. Koshiro Shimada (Kinoshita Group), a local skater who used the centre as his training base, said: ‘I'm very sad. If we convey the good qualities of skating through various activities, there will naturally be more opportunities for people to come into contact with skating’.
Ten skaters from the March ice show ‘Kassouya’ (Hiroshima) gave instructions at the class.

Former world champion Daisuke Takahashi and others gave special lectures at skating class for beginners in Matsuyama.
Friday 28 February 2025 (Ehime Shimbun)
A skating class for beginners was held at the Iyotetsu Sports Centre in Matsuyama on 28 February, with Daisuke Takahashi, a former world figure skating champion and ice dancer, and others acting as special instructors. Forty-seven primary school children from the prefecture enjoyed the opportunity to skate and become familiar with the sport.
The event was organised by Iyotetsu Real Estate, which operates the rink. Kanako Murakami, Kana Muramoto and Koshiro Shimada (from Matsuyama City), cast members of the ice show ‘Kassouya’ produced by Mr Takahashi, also made an appearance. They carefully taught the basics, such as how to walk on the ice, and gave advice such as ‘walk like a penguin’ and ‘don't look down’.

A brief clip of the skating lesson (+ Kanako demonstrating a spiral and KanaDai performing a lift):

Clips of a press conference with Kanako, Dai, Koshiro and Kazuki:

Koshiro:

'It's so strange to have Kassouya members at the rink in my hometown where I practised. The classroom was also a very happy place. 'You can only get the chance to get in touch with skating at the rink. (The children) just want to enjoy skating itself. I appreciate this opportunity.'

Kazuki:

https://x.com/kyodonewsports/status/1895650065739629004

'It's a sport that you don't often come into contact with. It would be great if there were more options to do sports not only on land but also on ice. It would be great if there were skaters who wanted to participate in ice shows, not just competitions, and opportunities to interact with each other in various ways. I was able to experience the joy of skating again.'

Kanako:

https://x.com/kyodonewsports/status/1895652197695938858

'Everyone had fun and we had fun too, and on the other hand, it gave us energy. It was also great to see them skate with their skater numbers. ‘I hope more kids take part in the skating classes and start skating after seeing the show.’

Daisuke:

https://x.com/kyodonewsports/status/1895643325174305245

“A lesson tied to a show. There are a lot of young skaters in Kassouya too. I want [some of the kids] to become future skaters and to fall in love with skating. It's a sport that's hard to get familiar with, but I hope this will be a chance for them to know how fun it is.'''

The skating lesson at the Iyotetsu Sports Centre was followed by a Kassouya training camp. Masashi Inoue, sports reporter for Kyodo News, published a couple of impressions:

Today, Daisuke Takahashi kindly offered to help from 7:30 in the morning until the evening.
We are closely following the training camp of @Kassouya from 7.30am to night!
All 26 members were together for a dance lesson on land by Yuma Suzuki in the morning.
It was a full 2.30 hours, and you'll be overwhelmed from the start!

Dance lessons are officially called ‘floor rehearsal isolation basic practice’.
‘Putting the movements on land onto the ice’.
That's what makes @Kassouya the one and only.
The first-time ensemble skaters are also struggling!

After the floor rehearsal, the skaters took to the ice with no time to catch their breath.
The 14-minute opening sequence was a raging battle of ‘this is too much’, with every detail being worked out.
The higher the number of skaters, the more complicated the movements.
Kosho Oshima, who had experience from last year, gives solid advice to the first-time participants.

They practised until the very last minute of the charter time, and the long day was over!
The amount and density of practice exceeded my imagination...
Daisuke Takahashi, who should have been mentally and physically exhausted, smiled and said, "Some of the first-timers looked like they were about to die, lol, but if you work hard and keep up, you'll get something out of it."

I was only supposed to be here for one day yesterday, but I was able to watch the practice again today until just before the time of my flight.
The rink was covered with mist due to the rising temperature and the rain from this morning.
Every time a program was finished, there was applause.

[Kassouya, close report on the camp, extra edition 2]
The keyword that emerges from this camp is “club activity feeling”
Kosho Oshima's words were impressive.
"How close can we get to the ideal that Dai-chan envisions?'' Kassouya is created by everyone. We are pieces of the puzzle. If even one piece doesn't fit, it won't be complete."
I’m looking forward to the actual performance on March 8th and 9th.

#Kassouya this weekend in Hiroshima.
Limited edition chocolates on sale at the ice show in Hiroshima this weekend. We are so happy about this!
This is a special chocolate using ‘King's Snack Dried Fruit’, which PARK STARS also helps with.
Daisuke Takahashi, a native of Kurashiki City, gave his full cooperation in the commercialisation of this product.

This special chocolate was made possible with the full cooperation of Daisuke Takahashi, a medalist from Kurashiki, Okayama Prefecture. The desire to provide special value to visitors of "Kassouya" and the feelings for his hometown overlapped, and this special chocolate was made into a product. We were overwhelmed with gratitude that he also tasted the ingredients himself ✨
If you are interested, please purchase some at the venue.

And now onto reports and photos from today's final rehearsals.

Dai, Kana, Kanako and Ikura appeared on local tv:

Machine translation of the partial transcript:

Daisuke Takahashi fully produces the new ice show ‘Kassouya’. Kanako Murakami is also keen to perform in Hiroshima from 8 March.
Friday 7 March 2025, 6:37pm
Welcome to Hiroshima, Daisuke Takahashi!
Live coverage. The ice show fully produced by Daisuke Takahashi is coming to Hiroshima from tomorrow, 8 March.
Caster Nogawa is at the venue, Hiroshin Big Wave in Higashi Ward, Hiroshima City.
Nogawa caster: Starting tomorrow (8 March), former world champion and Olympic medalist Daisuke Takahashi will be fully producing a show at the Hiroshin Big Wave, called ‘Kassouya’. Daisuke Takahashi is in the middle of training right now, but we've been able to get him to make a special appearance. Let's call him up! Mr Takahashi! Ah! Mr Takahashi! Oh, three more people have come.
Thank you for joining us, not only Mr Takahashi, but also your friends. Let me introduce them to you. Daisuke Takahashi and Kana Muramoto. Kanako Murakami and Ikura Kushida. I look forward to working with you. I'd like to welcome you all to Hiroshima and you will be performing the day before the show. It's an extraordinary line-up. As a fan myself, I am very excited. You have assembled a truly wonderful line-up.
Daisuke Takahashi: That's right. We have a total of 26 people doing this skating show, and it is really impressive. It's just amazing.

The ice show ‘Kassouya’, fully produced by Daisuke Takahashi, will start on the 8th.
It is a new era of entertainment created by young skaters who were discovered by Daisuke Takahashi.
The overwhelming sense of speed and the beautiful and powerful dances using all directions of the rink are breathtaking.
Last year, the first performance in Fukuoka was a full house, and now the number of skaters and choreography has been further improved, and the show is coming to Hiroshima over a year later.
Daisuke Takahashi: It's really impressive. It's rare to see 26 people performing together in unison. The movements are so complicated that you don't even know where to look, and the performance is structured in such a way that you can find enjoyment in so many different places.

Q: What is your impression of Hiroshima?
Daisuke Takahashi: When I was a child, there were a lot of competitons in Hiroshima, and there are a lot of delicious things there. I love okonomiyaki, and I also like gansu and kou-ne. I haven't eaten it properly yet, so I'd like to enjoy it once it's over.
Q: How do you like the finished product?
Kanako Murakami: I've already got goosebumps from practising and I feel like I'm going to cry... I'm trying to hold back and do my best.

Q: What is your impression of Hiroshima?
Kanako Murakami: I always visit various places on location, but this time I'm skating, so I'm working hard. But we had okonomiyaki, which gave us a lot of energy, so yes, it was great.

Q: Today are the four of you giving us a special spin?
Daisuke Takahashi: This is just a small part of it, but let's have a look.

<[The four of them demonstrating their spins.
Wow, that's wonderful.
<Enchanting the caster, Nogawa.

Q: Any last messages?
Kanako Murakami: I really don't think you can find an ice show with all 26 skaters with this much wind and momentum right in front of you, so please come to the venue and feel the wind.
Kana Muramoto: The ice show can really be enjoyed from all directions, so even first-timers will definitely be able to enjoy it. I definitely want you to see it. I'll be waiting for you at the venue.
The youngest, 17-year-old Ikura Kushida: As it's my first time to perform, there are many kinds of performances that I haven't done so far in my programs, so I hope I can show a lot of myself.
Daisuke Takahashi: It has a wonderful sense of power and speed, so when you see it up close you can feel those things, and when you look at it from above it has an interesting composition of shapes and patterns, so it's a place you won't get tired of seeing again and again, so I'd be very happy if you were interested in coming.
This was a live report from the venue, HIROSHIN BIG WAVE, Higashi Ward, Hiroshima City.

There are so many wonderful things to say about the reworked version of Kassouya. While the show was already great last year, it has been visibly upgraded this time. The transitions are really smooth and the show looks like a cohesive, seamless whole. The fan footage and reports on social media help to get an idea, although I’m sure it’s nowhere close to how awesome it must be to witness Kassouya in person. I'm incredibly jealous of the people who got to be there!

Not only the choreographies but also the light design have been improved and are working perfectly in synch as can be seen in videos and pictures taken from high up in the stands. A few impressions:

The cast is more in unison than last year too – it’s evident how hard each and every cast member has worked – and most importantly how hard everyone has worked together to create and present the best possible version of Kassouya. While everyone gets their moments to stand out, this is first and foremost a 75 minute long high-energy ensemble piece, in which everyone is equally important regardless of competitive results and name recognition.

I feel that Kassouya has modernized and re-invented the "genre" of ensemble ice shows. The show flows without any breaks and has a cohesive worldview from start to finish. There are no outdated cliches (and thankfully no war-horses apart from the Habanera transition) – it all feels contemporary, fresh and exciting. The attendance (the 6 shows were filled almost to capacity, while the Hiroshin Big Wave is significantly larger than the O-Vision Ice Arena in Fukuoka, where the show was last held) and enthusiastic audience reviews speak for themselves. And reportedly there were not only die-hard figure skating fans, but also numerous first time visitors, some of which heard of the show via word of mouth and sponatenously bought same day tickets, just like last time in Fukuoka.

Fans are mostly posting snippets on social media, but there are several longer videos that convey to an extent what the show is like. In chronological order:

High-fives after today’s morning show 😊: https://x.com/0208OjamaYellow/status/1898581065595322745

Different angle: https://x.com/cocodoko116/status/1898594563172024723

Like last year, at the end of each show, different cast members got to address the audience (as can be seen in the "final rounds and speeches" video above), many expressing their gratitude to have been given the opportunity to perform and be part of the Kassouya family.

Kudos to Daisuke, Yuma, all production assistants and of course the entire cast for bringing Kassouya to life! Hopefully there are more performances to follow in other locations!

Dai's Kassouya résumé ❤️:

Kassouya 2025.
Thank you very much to everyone who came to the event.
We were able to complete the show with all 26 cast members.
We managed to perform 2024 in front of you, but there was a lot of anxiety and pressure when we came back to perform it again.
We had to go many steps beyond what we did last time.
But we did go beyond, we could do it, and it was fun to spend time looking back and thinking again about what Kassouya is all about in the process of production.
I would like to thank Yuma Suzuki @yumayuma728, who is indispensable to Kassouya. She has brought a new style to the ice show and without her, Kassouya would not have been possible. As a producer, I have only just started out and had a lot of shortcomings, so I had to rely on her a lot, which I think was a big burden, but she did her best and loved the skaters of Kassouya with all her heart. Thank you.
And Haruna @harunawatanabe0212 and Rina @riiina.nn for supporting us. They did their best to support what we had in mind. I think it was more difficult than we imagined for them to spend all the time on the ice without skating.
On the skating team, there was Kana-chan @k.a.n.a.m.u.r.a! She was multi-faceted, from music editing to choreography and choreography support. And Kiki @kikinakanishi611 was great at bringing the skaters together and leading them, and Marie-chan @rimachangram helped out in areas where I couldn't give advice.
Thank you all for doing your best to support Kassouya while working other jobs.
Lastly, I would like to thank all of the skaters who participated in this event, I know it was hard to stay on the ice for so long, but they gave it their all and showed the most energetic power in front of our guests.
I was happy to spend time with these members.
And thank you to all the supporting staff for responding to our detailed requests as much as possible and making Kassouya a success.
Thank you very much.
We are still a fledgling company?! I don't know how far we can go, but I hope we can continue to show you what we want to show with our best effort, without being bound by form, feeling the current of the times and the desire to push forward.
I hope Kassouya can evolve together with you all, and I look forward to working with you in the future.
Thank you very much for the two days.

And Yuma Suzuki's:

We hope you enjoyed the Kassouya Hiroshima performance 2025.
What has it been like to perform again since the Fukuoka performance in February last year?
Thanks to all of you.
Whether you came to the show or not,
thanks to everyone who loved Kassouya.
Thank you very much.
And what we couldn't achieve in Fukuoka,
we were all able to finish this time together.
Kitamura-kun and Koshiro were great.
But not just the two of you, but all of you,
They were not the faces of last year's skaters.
Individual competitions and other ice shows,
I am sure they had improved through their respective teachers' guidance and dance lessons.
Last year, I had to specify the frames and colours of the colouring book,
I was giving them instructions one by one,
Before we knew it, they were colouring in the pages without us even having to say a word,
They started colouring in colours that we had never seen before!
And they tended to stick out...
The difficult composition of the colouring book of ‘Kassouya’,
they completed it.
And then there were the six new second-year students,
they brought a variety of colours, new personalities and energy to Kassouya.
It was so stimulating that it sometimes inspired the first time students.
When we heard that we had the opportunity to perform again, we were happy, but also anxious and under pressure. I knew that Kassouya, had to exceed, not just meet, everyone's expectations.
Many times I thought, ‘Oh, this is a re-enactment!’ and I think everyone had a harder time in some rehearsals than last time because of the renewal.
And above all, I wonder if we were able to get one or two steps closer than last time to the world and work that producer Daisuke was looking for. I don't know if that's true, but the cheers from everyone at the Hiroshima performance gave me a little bit of relief, that we had a good Hiroshima performance.
And when we were recalling the choreography this time, I felt the love for dance and passion for skating in the ice choreography, which didn't miss a single nuance or sound. It's amazing.
Thank you so much, Daisuke, for inviting us to "Into the Light."
Thank you Kana and Kiki for your super support⭐️. Thanks to Haruna and Rina from the choreography team for your hard work.
You were the best and strongest team!!
And to the management staff who cared about the physical condition of the cast and supported them, and to the technical staff who responded to difficult production orders.
Above all, thank you to everyone who came to see the show.
I look forward to working with you in the future.

Akiko Tanaka from gendai media published a two-part Kassouya report, including quotes by Yuma Suzuki and photos from the show:

Part 1:
Part 2:

Machine translation of part 1:

Landing in Hiroshima... Daisuke Takahashi and the awakened ‘skating craftsmen’.
Kassouya 2025 report, part 1
Akiko Tanaka
Following the 2024 performance in Fukuoka, Daisuke Takahashi's fully-produced ice show ‘Kassouya’ was performed again in Hiroshima on 8 and 9 March 2025. The six performances of the show were a great success. Videos of the dark, cool and glamorous show are still making the rounds on social networks. What on earth was going on? Writer Akiko Tanaka, who attended the show in Hiroshima from the opening rehearsal, spoke to choreographer Yuma Suzuki after the performance and reports on the show.
Big ‘difference’ from 2024.
“Huh?” It was just as the dress rehearsal (public rehearsal) began on the night before the performance of "Kassouya" that I noticed something was "off". Although this time's "Kassouya" was a revival, the choreography had been revised in various places, some songs had more parts used, and there were new programs. In addition, six more ensemble skaters had been added, making the total number of skaters 26, and it was expected that the formation would also change. So it was natural that the impression was different, but there was "something" that was different from that.
As I was thinking about this, I noticed something. The speed and tempo of the performances, including those of the student ensemble skaters, had become much more varied overall. Leading the group, Takahashi Daisuke, always maintained a unique sense of timing, as well as speed and tempo, but the entire cast, while desperately dancing to speedy, danceable numbers, were conscious of the eyes of the audience, making them, so to speak, an entertainment group. Could this be a sign that the "skating craftsmen" have awakened and made great progress?
I will never forget the surprise I felt when I first saw "Kassouya," which was born in Fukuoka in 2024. Skaters wearing black cloaks and masks, like a dark group, appeared from the darkness. The group number, which featured both main and ensemble skaters, was simply cool, set to a dark and cool piece of music. The skaters were desperately trying to finish the show, which was created from scratch by general director Daisuke Takahashi and floor dancer and choreographer Yuma Suzuki, with many programs created from scratch in a short time frame.
Moreover, many of the young ensemble skaters, handpicked by Takahashi himself, were performing in a show for the first time. Nevertheless, their rough but energetic performances, as they desperately tried to keep up with the internationally experienced skaters, were shocking, as if they were caught in a whirlpool of energy from the rink. As it was a new endeavor, they faced various difficulties, but even these were transformed into overflowing tension and energy, and had the appeal of allowing viewers to experience the "moment of creation" both on-site and through the audience videos flooding social media.
‘I really want to thank the audience for uploading their videos.’
This time, there was a different charm to it. Inspired by the participation of the second-year students, the first-year students, both the main cast and the ensemble skaters, must have worked even harder. The whole group was awakened to the ability to "captivate," and the story and theme were conveyed more clearly. Illuminated by the improved lighting, a new chapter was opened for Kassouya.
After the dress rehearsal, when I passed choreographer Suzuki Yuma, I felt a glimpse of confidence in the depths of her eyes as she asked me how I felt.
Yuma said, "practice started with the Kanto group, and the second-year Kanto skaters who were joining us this time were quite nervous at first. But Muramoto Kana and Murakami Kanako, as well as Oshima Kosho and Aoki Yuna, first-year skaters who joined us last time, volunteered to act as instructors and pull the second-year skaters along. At the Matsuyama training camp where the Kanto and Kansai groups joined together, the main skaters and first-year skaters took the initiative to pull the second-year skaters along, and even when it wasn't their turn, they were busy instructing the younger skaters so that no time was wasted. Thanks to this, Daisuke and I were able to concentrate on new choreography and creative work.
Also, during the Fukuoka performance, the skaters couldn't see the whole picture from a bird's-eye view, so there were parts where they didn't really understand what they were doing. However, because many of the audience members at the Fukuoka performance uploaded videos to SNS, this time the first and second generation skaters watched them, understood the worldview of the skaters, and analyzed what was expected of them and the pieces in their own way, which was great for them to come to practice with a better understanding than they had expected. I'm really grateful to the audience members who uploaded videos.”
Special "narration" from "Medalist"
Yuma-san said that the opening of the run-through on the last day of the Matsuyama training camp left a strong impression on her.
"For the re-run, Daisuke and I reviewed and reconstructed the entire program, wondering how we could more clearly communicate the worldview that we wanted to convey. The review of the opening resulted in an increase of about 1.3 times the amount of skating. The energy when we did it for the first time, and the skaters' sense of “we did it” and elation, made us all feel that we had created something great. At that moment, the skaters and staff naturally cheered and applauded, and I was so moved that I was moved to tears.”
From Takahashi's words at the press conference held after the dress rehearsal, it was clear that he was feeling confident.
The night before the big day, before the show, voice actress Natsumi Haruse, who was now the cheer leader for Kassouya, made the announcements in the venue. She was a so-called "shadow narrator," but different from the voice of Yuzuki Inori, one of the main characters in "Medalist," her calm voice blended in with the mood of Kassouya. It was so natural that, to my embarrassment, I didn't realize it was Haruse making the announcement at first.
Powerful performance by ‘chairperson’ Mr Takahashi.
And then it was time for the main event. The curtain opened on a world of cold blue darkness, and to the sound of a bell, troupe leader Daisuke Takahashi appeared wearing a mask and black costume. The performers appeared one after another from the darkness wearing masks, not only to fulfil their own roles, but also to be aware of the audience's gaze and to ‘attract’ them even more. The power of the 26 members moving in complex formations on the rink at the same time and at high speed, and the many things happening here and there on the rink, with no time to catch one's breath, made the performance even more impressive.
Among them, the leader of the group, Daisuke Takahashi, seemed to be giving an especially powerful performance this time. An aura emanated from his standing back, his raised arms, and the way he skated on the ice. The excitement gradually rose, and the scene moved to a scene where male and female couples danced together. Last time, the young skaters seemed somewhat reserved, but this time they were fully engaged. Then, in the fourth song, "Blood Tears," Kazuki Kushida, as the leader, skated in a large circle at breakneck speed, and one by one the skaters joined him, running straight through the circle. This performance was even faster and more powerful than the last one, and the crowd was in a frenzy. Why is it that a simple performance of a skater skating in circles at high speed is so exciting? A primal urge to challenge the body wells up inside me, and I feel like an audience member at the Colosseum.
As the excitement in the venue grew even more, the program that was added after the opening began. This was a very uplifting program. Takahashi and Muramoto Kana faced each other in the center of the rink, and a composition was presented in which they faced off against each other. The song was the rock song "Centuries" by Fall Out Boy, a band whose music Takahashi had used in his final single short program, "Phoenix". It seemed as though a rivalry had broken out between Takahashi's team and Muramoto's team, and the two of them, accompanied by their young underlings, took turns showing off their skills as if to say, "Look at that!"
Athletes who came out of their shells after appearing in Kassouya
The Muramoto team sent out Kosho Oshima and Saki Miyake wa sent out from the Takahashi team, as if to say ‘You go ahead’. These two athletes seem to have come out of their shells after appearing in last year's Kassouya, and their results have improved. Miyake won the West Japan Championships and Kosho Oshima won the East Japan Championships. The fact that these two skaters had the opportunity to show their solo performances must have created a sense of tension and satisfaction for the skaters.
First, Oshima rode the rocks, skating as if to show off, performing tricks and landing a backflip. Not only were the tricks spectacular, but every movement, from the skating to the poses, showed perfect core strength. Next up was Miyake, who also skated as if to show off her skills, landing consecutive triple jumps to the music and showing off neat movements using her whole body. Above all, both of them had a charisma that drew the audience's attention, and I was truly amazed at how they transformed.
The first main skater, Sena Miyake, performed his solo after the powerful and exciting group number. In the name of the main skater, this was something he could not afford to lose. In fact, Miyake's performance was so powerful as if he tried to shake something off, Yuma says.
"It was Daisuke who decided to select Kosho and Saki-chan. I think he wanted to give back to them for the hard work they have put in over the past year outside of Kassouya. In fact, their performances were truly outstanding, and I felt that they have grown as people. Kosho also had a sense of freedom. I've told everyone this, but the line between main and ensemble skaters can be broken in more areas than just track record, so I'd like to see more ensemble skaters take on the challenge. I'll explain this later, but that was the feeling we had when we held the audition for Carmen."
The characteristic of Kassouya is that the group numbers and solo performances proceed without interruption, but there is a lot of energy right from the start. Anyway, the figure skating and the skaters are so cool. In the group number that only male skaters appear in, they dance lively, performing a wild and masculine dance, including skaters who are performing for the first time.
"Cocobongo" is packed with synchronized figure skating techniques, and the lighting is brighter and more elaborate than last time, so you can see how difficult it is, such as the perfect formation led by Yuto Kishina, and the breathtaking moment when the formation joins forces.
The narrative quality of group numbers
Among them, the group number "Cry Me a River" was the one that I personally felt was very narrative. The lyrics of the title song are about a woman who has been heartbroken, singing to her boyfriend with resentment. Aoki plays the woman, and her skating and dancing erupt with something like dark passion. The ensemble skaters dance fluidly outside the spotlight in their black caped costumes, and it seems as if the passion itself is the skaters wearing capes, or perhaps it has transformed into demons. Takahashi is quietly blending into the ensemble. His dynamic dancing with varying speeds really stands out. The other skaters are also skating beautifully, as if lifted by his skating, making it a pleasure to watch. Aoki's emotions grow, the world turns red, and it sparks with lightning. Then, with a rain that seems to purify the world, a blue silent world comes and leads to Kazuki Tomono's solo ‘Halston’. Tomono skated the only ‘quiet’ programme among the skaters again, this time with inner passion. He will return to this program for his free program next season, and I'm looking forward to seeing him evolve "Halston" with the addition of something he learned from his time at Kassouya.
The main skaters were all fired up. In the group numbers, they raised the base level with solid skating and dancing, and by taking leadership. Furthermore, Murakami Kanako and Aoki Yuna took on a new image in their solo programs. Muramoto Kana, who said she had just started learning floor dance, seemed to have improved the swell of her body. And Shimada Koshiro, who was unable to perform last time due to a sudden illness, used his whole body to dance powerfully on the ice in his solo performance, as if to release his sorrows. When it was over, he returned to the chair he had been sitting in at the start of the program, only to find a strange girl sitting there.

Yuma posted a couple of show photos by dance photographer Hiroyasu Daido:

[Let me introduce you]
Photographer Daido Hiroyasu rushed over to Hiroshima.
Of course, to photograph Kassouya.
Before I knew it, 11 years and 4 works had passed. Daido has been watching my work and growing for many years.
To call him a "genius photographer" is too cheap to describe Daido's talent.
Not only is he able to capture dynamic beauty, but he also has a sense of composition that comes from an instantaneous understanding of the work, which is a little peculiar.
He has a keen sense for the subtle emotional fluctuations that dancers express.
Any dancer would have heard of photographer Daido-san.
He couldn't miss this dark and sensual piece produced by Takahashi Daisuke, so I called him in lol
After the show, the photos the master sent me was of skaters I was familiar with, but I'd never seen before this way.
He managed to capture something incredible on that rink.
Thank you very much.
For now, I'll go with the "vertical" style, trying not to ruin the compositions as much as possible.

A look at the thoughts of Daisuke Takahashi and young skaters! The documentary film following ‘Kassouya’ will be available from 11 April.
2025.4.4
The first part of ‘Kassouya 2025 in HIROSHIMA -Making Documentary Film-’, held on 8 and 9 March at Hiroshin Big Wave in Hiroshima, will be available from 11 April at 20:00 and the second part from 20:00 on 25 April.
‘Kassouya’ is a new-age ice entertainment group produced by Daisuke Takahashi, which has been called a breakthrough in ice shows. The ice show was performed on 8 (Sat) and 9 (Sun) March at Hiroshima's Hiroshin Big Wave. In this edition, we closely followed Takahashi and the young skaters as they took on the challenges they faced on their way to the performances.
As this was a repeat of the ice show that had enthralled Fukuoka, the venue of the performance a year earlier, Takahashi, the producer, was under a lot of pressure due to the high expectations: However, this pressure was turned into strength by Takahashi, who continued to focus on and brush up every detail. As if in response to such a desire, the young skaters, including the six new members, also showed great growth while helping each other throughout the rehearsal period.
This performance has evolved even further from the Fukuoka show and has fascinated people with its reborn appearance. The video follows the path of the skaters from the kick-off meeting to the stunning performance in Hiroshima, including the Matsuyama training camp, behind-the-scenes interviews with Takahashi and the other skaters.
The ‘Kassouya 2025 in HIROSHIMA - Making Documentary Film’ will be streamed on Streaming+ according to the following schedule.
Part 1: Distribution period / Friday 11 Apr (20:00) to Sunday 20 Apr (23:59)
Part 2: Distribution period / Friday 25 Apr (20:00) to Sunday 4 May (23:59)
Distribution is available for 4,000 yen.

The Kassouya sns-accounts published several sneak-peeks at the documentary. It looks amazing - I'm sad that it's not accessible for overseas fans:

Carmen audition:

"Kassouya" 2025 in HIROSHIMA
-Making of Documentary Movie - Part 1"
A little bit of footage from the film is released ahead of the main distribution!
A fierce audition for the performers of "Carmen", the piece that takes place just before the climax of Kassouya. At the end of the audition, #TakahashiDaisukeProducer was there too...?
See the behind-the-scenes footage in the full film 🤲✨.

Dai and Kana choreographing a part of the new group number Centuries:

New number from the Hiroshima show, ‘Centuries’.

Kana and Dai going over the Centuries choreo with Saki and Kosho:

#Kanadai drops the choreography of the new number ‘Centuries’ to #KoshoOshima and #SakiMiyake.

Fine-tuning of the Blood Tears choreography:

The opening song "Blood Tears" is particularly exciting. The skaters look like they're in pain as the rehearsal continues with repeated fine-tuning, while producer #TakahashiDaisuke looks like he's having a (little) fun🤭

Kassouya is holding skater auditions for the next (completely new) production, which is scheduled for spring 2026. Agreed, this really underlines what Haruya Sasaki and Natsumi Haruse said in their Kassouya talk series on Haruya's youtube channel about Dai's ability to create an atmosphere that fosters a strong sense of camraderie within a group 😊:

Natsumi: I really think that everyone gets along really well, and I think that's really great, and I'm sure it's because of the atmosphere that Daisuke-san has created, and how can I put it, he has a good eye for bringing everyone together.
Haruya: That's right, there's just such a strong sense of camraderie among the people sorrounding Daisuke, it's really like that. It's not like Daisuke is overly active/active "like crazy", but he's really involved in everything. From a master's perspective, Daisuke is incredibly easy to talk to and kind and it's like "I can't believe there are people as wonderful as him". He has an incredible ability to attract people.
Natsumi: I think it's because of his personality, that everyone really loves Daisuke, and it feels like they're all one.
Haruya: Yes, that's true, it's amazing, everyone is a fan of Daisuke, and as you said, it's a really good company and it really feels like we've become a great team, a great company.
