2025 Skate Ontario Sectional Series | July 25-27

The 2025 Skate Ontario Sectional Series -July will be held from July 25 to 27, 2025 and will take place at the Gloucester Skating Club in Orleans, Ontario. The competition is sanctioned by Skate Ontario and held under the rules of Skate Canada.

Please two good skates from John Kim. I think he has oodles of talent and is deserving of all our good wishes.
And also for Breken. Her joy on the ice is so inspiring.

She's only doing the short here, so it'll be hard to say until CQE where she'll do the free too

Based on the results/protocol for Junior Men, Jonathon Moravec looks like he had a good skate, he broke 50 for the first time

So glad about the good skates from David and Minsol. Sad about John Kim but still hopeful. Glad also to see Alec land his 3A and perhaps did a good job on the 4S (at least no <).

Would be lovely to get solid intel on Minsol's status with respect to whether she can / will represent Canada internationally.

looking at protocols... okay.. John didn't have a stellar skate but he went for the jumps and his content wouldn't be matched domestically at this point... When he gets things more consistent, he will be a huge threat.

David S... was steady but 2a no quads.

Breken
After a spectacular 3T 3T, she popped the axel and the lutz and got no points for these two elements
(She didn’t even break 50 with the SP)

Justine won. But, she wasn’t spectacular. Falling on her flip.

The TBD spot is up for grabs and nobody wants it.

Madeline - has two GP spots
SMD - already has the other SC spot
KMS - could grab that spot. But, her withdrawals have me concerned

Kaiya - the favourite for this spot now. But, is having boot issues
Uliana - was horrible at the BC event scoring 140 something
Fee Ann - dark horse
Breken -
Maybe, Gabby Daleman has a chance.

I'll wait for the CQE match-up of Uliana vs Fee Ann vs Breken and then the Skate Ontario August match-up of Breken vs Kaiya vs Gabby, that'll be more interesting for the TBD spot

Looking at the short program scores at Skate Ontario July last season for comparison:

2 - Fee Ann 49.66
3 - Breken 46.50
4 - Sara-Maude 46.48
