2025 CS Cranberry Cup Senior Women Short Program

there are much more shameful things one can do on these threads... don't worry about it ;)
I need to set higher standards on myself to justify me being a very opinionated and often severly biased fangirl, but merci beaucoup
Well.. the season has really started with all this Jia vs Samo convo :) It's official folks :) Skating is back !
And this is why I didn't want FS season to come back, I was enjoying my break :tantrum:

1/ Petrosian is basically undefeated for two years (now 2.5) in the toughest senior competition on the planet, is there not a better good reputation than that? I look forward to the Olympic live threads where you justify the judges burying her.

Sorry, but I had to sit through people justifying Samo getting 23 because of no reputation even though every single judge knew what her reputation was, where she had come from, what she had been through.
International judges are not going out of their way to watch domestic competitions, except for the ones they are judging. They might hear things about skaters, but outside of the winner, most of them probably won't even remember the names. They might be lovers of the sport, but they are also all adults with busy lives who mostly have full-time jobs in addition to being judges. A lot of judges aren't even on social media, particularly the older ones, of which there are many.

Even commentators, whose job it is to do the kind of research I do in my free time for fun, oftentimes don't have all of the information that is publicly available and get surprised by new faces, even when these skaters are already being talked about among fans due to their domestic results (as Novices, for example).

Love that Sonja finished ahead of Josephine. Nice to see the clean, detailed work rewarded. No shade on Joey though - she gave a spirited performance of her own. Today Sonja was better.

Sonja is such a joy. She choreographs her own programs, and they are an absolute delight. She'll have a bright future after competitive sport for sure (though I hope that is still some way off in the future), whether as a choreographer or as a show skater.
